No.

Of course not, there are way better ways to impress women (real ones, not an easy ones).

:yeahthat

I agree with ya'll....if you can't impress a woman with anything other than material possessions, you've missed the whole point of having a relationship with a lady. If you need to "Peacock" to get the attentions of a woman, then obviously .....Oh nevermind, I'm not even going there! :soapbox: :watchout: :nono:

It might not seem obvious, but if you figure Bling = Vagin, and Money = Bling, then you could safely say Money = Vagin and we all know what the world's oldest profession is.

Regardless, one day you will meet a woman who is worth more to you than above said woman, you will realize only Charlie Sheen can afford hookers and blow on any given week night and that level of debauchery is too far even for you. Then said woman will let you know, your car is a literal affront to the financial security and personality traits she expects from a husband, and you will realize you need to change your priorities and grow up. Then you will look down at your blinged wrist, realize you look like a total clown in the office wearing it, you're too old and mature to give off this douche bag impression and you need something with what they call class and sophistication. Either that or you will be the old man looking at the 20 year olds wondering how much money you can afford to blow and if you have any Viagra left in your glove box.

But to be honest, I had a done up $20k car I spent $65K on when I was that age too (I'm 30 now). It happens to the best of us! But in my own defense, I never had a watch that ghetto! :nana:

i think the original posted watch is not bad at all...? its alittle over the top but still in my eyes tastefully done.. the 45ct breit is deff too bling.. but would i wear it with pride if i owned it, YES. 8) ... annd i put 8k rims on my nissan 240sx... but thats nothing compared to the 40k worth of ls3 motor in in it :nana: alot of you guys are just to old and too judgmental. but hey im just a dumb 24 year old kid...
p.s any of you guys want to race your pretty 100-200k porsche or Ferrari against my "POS" nissan 240sx? i would love the look on your face when it :superman:!!!

but guess what that ^ wont get you a fraction of the girls a new porsche could lol.. point is that watch is nice in my eyes, and most of all in girls eyes it is too!!!! (@Y@)

but no offense to any of you guys. all my point is, is only reason we spend all this money on shit is to impress women.. no? for you guys that are 50+ years old and mad about my post, when your driving around your dope ass 100k+ car and you catch a look from a hot 20 something year old girl your thinking, damn i wish i could poke that! well if you were in a bar wearing THAT watch and she knew it was real i bet you probably would POKE! (getting her to believe its real is another thing) hahaha im drunk and go ahead and :guns: me from this forum! :lovesloves: you guys!

p.s.s tonight i had about 5 woman compliment me on my watch, NOT one knowing what a breitling was.. but diamonds are a girls best friend :lingsrock: "are those real diamonds?""yes now smile for the iphone"

goodnight and just remember its jewelry fellas. bling=vagin!

Coming from somebody whos into the 240sx and drift world... your 240sx wouldnt stand a chance in a race with a high end porsche or ferrari unless its a rolling start from 80mph or so.
The problem with the platform on the 240sx and a high powered set up is the lack or traction in 1-3 gears. which poses a problem when the 10' 997 turbo is pulling 0 - 60 in under 3 seconds... after 100mph your car will be a rocket ship, but i again think you are underestimating most cars. the 10' 997 turbo would give you a good run for your money even at a rolling start. (this is assuming youre running something like a gt30-76r on an SR20det producing mid 400whp).

Also... i could care less if people think my watch is real or fake, i buy watches for myself, not for anybody else. and i wouldnt waste the time trying to convince anybody that its real. I buy nice watches because im facinated by them, i dont buy them for other people to notice. Maybe im just not all that flashy. And im 22, so maybe im just mature for my age.

And i must ask, you mentioned having an LS3 in your s13... why is your username SR20DET???

I dont mean to flame you, but that was a really ignorant post.

I 100% get the car  but not the OVER the top blinged out watches..

The car will go like stink in certain circumstances and to a extent has a purpose.
To make it go, a lot , faster or reduce its 1/4 mile and to its owner/builder it is a work of passion and a genuine feat to be proud of, knowing that they have accomplished something that works/performs better than it was standard.

Now to the over the top blinged out watches' that accomplish 100% nothing IMHO only the fact that some one has more money that sense and are wiling to waste money on what can only be described as utterly ridiculous, and to a high % of the general population totally over the top, and a in your face statement of there wealth.
Please tell me where is the achievement in walking into one of those Bling stores and commissioning a several KKK$ watch the looks like something Willie Wanka would ware.
Is it, here let me shove this in yer face and try to prove to my self I have more money that you....
Maybe.. but surely they are not in abundance of taste, intelligence and appreciation for what what the rest of us have worked hard for. Money.

There in a reason Nissan do not make a car like yours :( likewise there is a reason Breitling do not, THANKFULLY, make blinged out canary yellow diamond watches :cheer: !!!!

Just my opinions...
:lingsrock:

That is exactly part of the point I was getting at when I shared a few of these outlandish examples!!

I love that analogy...a Willie Wanka Watch  The "CanaryVenger" reminded me of something Liberache or Elton John :geek: would wear, but then again even though those guys were/are both talented artists in their own right, they were/are both noted for their outlandish over the top garb.....part of their stage persona I reckon, so I could understand them owning something like these .

For the others that would commission such atrocities into existence however; :idontgetit: is IMO a vulgar and tasteless statement of "Hey look at me...I'm rich". If I were to see something like that on somebody's wrist my inner self would be saying, "Oh goody for you, I'm so happy for you that you are rich and stupid, now get your ugly watch out of my face". Having a lot of money does not equate to having more intelligence, class, logic, taste, or any other positive character attributes.

That being said, while not a huge fan of the iced out versions of any watch, there are some that I've seen that were much more subtle, tastefully done, and downright nice looking. Personally I would not pay extra for them myself, but I wouldn't be embarrassed to wear one.

 Last but not least, thank goodness we live in countries :usa: :brit :canada where we are free to express ourselves however we desire as long as it does not infringe on others rights, injure others bodily, or break the law. If we were all the same, the world would be a much more bland place...not too mention we wouldn't have anything to post on the BS forums to :cheer:, :argue:, :footinmouth:,, or  about!!

Ran across a couple more examples that I thought were worth mentioning and sharing.

Now this SA while over done by a long shot, is in it's own way kinda cool ("kinda" being the keyword here), definitely different to say the least.

+1 to Montexn

I've seen the diamond markers w/ diamond bezel from factory, and think they are great, but not for me.

I guess I should be fair and post an example of what IMO is an example of a watch that struck me as very tastefully done. I have to give credit to one of our own that lurks here on the BS forums. O2AFAC67 posted a number of outstanding photos of his Evo that really looks nice and IMO is pretty damn sharp. After seeing his photo essay showcasing his Evo Chrono, it has remained IMO as one of the best I've ever seen done. He's got coordinating/accessorizing it down to a fine science too.

For more on his Photos check them out at http://breitlingsource.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=23068

Again I got to hand it to O2AFAC67 for his Photo artistry, his use of diverse settings, visual imagery, textures....simply put....OUTSTANDING!! Ron did a wonderful job presenting his Chrono with a lot of class and style. The use of accessorizing also allows him show that his Chrono can be very versatile, classy, and yet not be so blingy as to appear "Over the top". :cheer:

WELL DONE SIR!!!

Im a member to so many forums that the sr20detb13 is just my standard account name for everything. a b13 is a 91-93 nissan sentra lmao. yeah that was my first "race car"

Image
Image

haha dyno'd 400 to the front wheels and ran a 10.9 on slicks.. talk about a sleeper!. but i do completely agree with you i will get worked off the line by alot of high end cars, with the current stance/tire/shocks i have. but im not lying about my ls3 or anything

Image

its not just a stock ls3. prc heads, cam, 102mm intake and tb, shes a beast at just over 540 to the wheels, and 2750 weight. i have not ran it at the track but i say mid 10s burning all the way to 5th... its kinda a stupid machine but whatever i love it. and as far as the primer goes, honestly i beat the hell out of the car and do plan to magazine it and have already cracked a front fender (fiberglass wide body) and once its painted i know its going to lose its fun. but i am painting it.

sorry this is a watch forum and now turned car rant... as for the two bling'd out watches montexn posted, WOW, thats expensive to say the least.. i absolutely hate a diamond band. but i think something beautiful could be done with black diamonds.. the chrono montexn posted is PERFECT imho thats why i bought mine :lingsrock: .

I apologize in advance if this is a bit much for this forum. But it does apply.

A horse and a chicken are playing in a meadow. The horse falls into a mud hole and is sinking. He calls to the chicken to go and get the farmer to help pull him out to safety. The chicken runs to the farm but the farmer can't be found. So he drives the farmer's BMW back to the mud hole and ties some rope around the bumper. He then throws the other end of the rope to his friend, the horse, and drives the car forward saving him from sinking!

A few days later, the chicken and horse were playing in the meadow again and the chicken fell into the mud hole. The chicken yelled to the horse to go and get some help from the farmer. The horse said, "I think I can stand over the hole!" So he stretched over the width of the hole and said, "Grab for my penis and pull yourself up." And the chicken did and pulled himself to safety.

Moral of the Story: If you're hung like a horse, you don't need a BMW to pick up chicks.

Cute joke there UncleBuck

sr20detb13 That is some engine in that "Matt" finished car of yours to say the least...I'm not too much into the car scene myself, but I am into Harley's. :cigar:

As for your Blinged "Ling", it is also very nice looking. 2   for Ron (O2AFAC67) Scott's version in all it's various forms for showing us all just how versatile a Blinged "Ling" can be and still retain decorum and class. Personally, I am not into the Iced out versions, but they can be done tastefully without being gaudy.

What prompted this thread were the ones that were so over the top that they left me scratching my head wondering, "Did someone really think that these things looked good?" :huh :idontgetit: Not too mention the utterly ridiculous amount of money that was spent to create these impractical monstrosities.

It is these kind of creations that leaves most of us wondering about the psyches of the people behind these abominations. I think the comparison of most of them to the King in the short story by Hans Christian Andersen, "The Emperor's New Clothes", would be pretty much spot on in that regard.
