This doesn't need to turn into a big deal. If everyone liked the same watch, Breitling would only make one. The fact that some people aren't crazy about the B01 doesn't bother me at all. Honestly, I'm not entirely crazy about the "alien font" numbers myself. Regardless, I love my B01 and there is no other Breitling in the world I'd rather have on my wrist right now. It may be ugly to some, but it's a special watch in Breitling's history, nonetheless.

I think we can agree that opinions about the B01 may change over time. I think we can also agree that some will always find the watch repulsive.

I didn't think I said that ALL people's minds changed. Let me read my post and see.....nope!! I was simply implying that most people don't like drastic change, such as the change with the Cronomat. The Majority of humans....not ALL are creatures of habit! Sometimes it takes a while for people to warm up to something new. Kinda like when a girlfriend or wife comes home with a toatally different hair style.....it could be traumatic!!

I didn't like it at first either and I downloaded the screen saver and I've been watching it for a while now and it did started to grow on me but it blew me away with your wrist shots and now I'm really liking it. Do you have a tiny wrist or it's just have that big presence on it cause it looks amazing i dunno but im a big navitimer fan cause of the presence but this watch brings a whole new meaning to presence. Excuse my spelling. :lingsrock:

You're absolutely correct, Craig. The SINGLE most important thing is that you like and enjoy your watch. What anyone else says or thinks doesn't matter at all.

I'm sure we all own watches that some people love, while other hate, so there's no problem at all with that. I think the "problem" with the B01 was that everyone had such huge expectations that we were never all going to be 100% satisfied with it. I'm sure that if it wasn't such a landmark piece, it wouldn't have polarised opinion so much.

And BTW, while I'm not personally a fan of the model, I think yours with the silver dial is extremely classy looking!

Craig,

I know the "old" Chronomats wear bigger that their actual 43.7mm size...This new one is a tad smaller
but judging from your pics (which are very nice) seems to wear, even bigger :?

I'm just curious...What is your wrist size? (Ii'd guess ~6.5")

Spartan- VERY good guess on my wrist size. It actually is 6.5". I'm a pretty average size guy (5'8", 160lbs), but I have unusually small wrists, which is why the B01 looks so huge on me. Needless to say, I don't think a Montbrillant Legende in in my future . . .

vadim- I think I answered your question above . . . the dial is only 43.7mm; my wrist is just small.

Driver8- Even though you don't love the B01, I appreciate your compliments on mine. I really like the Sierra Silver dial color with the silver square in the center.

Congrats on the new Chronomat. I hope you get many years of trouble free use. I'm kind of in the middle on liking this one. As many others have stated, I don't care for the font and the square in the round doesn't work for me either. BUT, you like it and it is very nice! What I'd really like to see is a Navitimer World with the new manufacture movement.

Craig,
B01 is great watch - i have Panerai pam113 and want to sell it and buy the new B01 - i have some questions to you.
On the website there are view opinions regarding the watch (only Breitling's posts) - is it great one?
I mean accuracy - i heard Uhren Magazin thought it had inside quartz (very precise movement),
how about power reserve - 70 hours or more?
Tell me please about your opinions thanks.
Piotr

To be perfectly honest, I'm not sure how to address your question about accuracy. I'm a watch admirer, but I certainly can't speak to watches like I can speak to cars. What metrics would I use to determine a watches "preciseness"? If you're speaking to keeping accurate time, I haven't been able to notice it losing or gaining seconds . . . but I also haven't had the watch very long. In regards to the power reserve, I haven't been able to keep the watch off my wrist for more than 12 hours at a time, so I'm not sure how accurate Breitling's claims of a 70 hour reserve are. Overall, I love the watch. I think it's a very special part of Breitling's history and I'm proud to own it.

i agree with you, i had B01 black dial w/roman numera for over a month now. I o say it's pretty accurate on time. And iam same like you have not took my watch off over 24 hours. pretty bling bling, sometimes you look at your watch, you will say "nice, pretty quality watch", Took shower with me, dropped to the river nothing happened.

besides consider that i'm working with ultrasonic machine everyday, which means i put my hands with watch on to machine everyday.

Pretty satisfy so far, but i think we need more time to approve it. At least a year or two

Don't put your watch in the ultrasonic.

The vibration might affect the function of the watch? i thought about it, but i thought it would be ok, since it's just vibration(?). But you guys might right, i won't do it anymore. Hew,,,good to know it.
I did this for past whole month, the time is still accurate so far.
