And whether this is still in effect or not, jnelson3097 has contacts for the famous 'George' at Govberg and would be happy to provide them via PM. No requirement for length of membership, number of posts and no problems telling people that you are talking to him or telling him that you are talking to other people.

Yeah, the group buy is over guys. I was doing what I can to help but it got to be too big of a chore. As Roff and others have said you can just go through a number of dealers Govberg being one of them that should be able to give you a 30-32% discount on any non-LE breitling whether they have it in stock or not.

Enjoy.

I'll be happy to provide George's contact info to anyone who is interested. By no means is this the same as the group buy as Mario was generous enough to coordinate last year. All I can promise is discounts are within the limits that Breilting allows, if you get anything more, good for you.

Sorry, didn't mean to leave that impression - my post wasn't as clear as it might have been - apologies.

Someone else should do one. It's a lot of work but so many people will appreciate it.

Anyone want to do it?

If my daughter wasn't due any day now, I'd be happy to do it.

Any excuse!

In all seriousness I'm not sure what the advantage is now with George helping out. George is pretty much doing the limit that Breitling will allow, and Govberg aren't going to break the rules. With Breitling getting serious about enforcing their AD agreements, anyone who does more is in serious jeopardy of having their AD status pulled - there are enough former ADs in the US to testify to that in the last few months!!

That's what I was thinking. George will be able to offer competitive prices and like Roff said, he's not going to risk losing the line since they're already probably one of the top 5 Breitling dealers in the country. All anyone has to do it call George, reference Breitling Source, and he'll be happy to help.

Cool.

As for the other PM's I'm getting. If you guys want to start up a new Group Buy please do, you certainly don't need my permission. I'd love to see it continued. It brought more people to the forum, more lings to the watch boxes and all for a little less money than the AD down the street ;)

I'll be happy to share my thoughts on handling logistics etc.

I see a Group Buy 2009 on the horizon!

I'm not going to run an "official" group buy through Govberg since I've asked George before and he's indicated they're not interested. I think the idea of a group buy is great, but as long as we have recommended ADs, there's no need to start a 2009 group buy AD. I don't mind getting PMs, if I check my mail and find 10 a day for George's info, that's fine by me but I know in the next few weeks, I'm not going to be on here as much as I have been. I just know George does his best with prices, I just don't want someone calling him and saying they want the "group buy" rate and then being disappointed if it's more than what they were expecting. I just don't want to put that kind of pressure on them.

And let's also recognise that anyone who is beating George's prices by anything significant is very probably in breach of their contract with Breitling and is liable to be thrown out - "but it's a Group Buy" isn't going to carry any weight with Breitling.

The maximum allowed is 20%. That is all someone should hope for when looking to buy although by no means are ADs required to give that off. You just have to call to get a price quote and like I said, I'm very happy to give out George's info, just send me a PM and you should get a repsonse within a day. He's very happy and thankful for the business he's gotten from this site and is willing to work with everyone on pricing on Breitling, IWC, Zenith, JLC, Cartier, UN, pretty much every brand besides Panerai and Rolex. Not sure what the other brands discount, but it's only a phone call away.

Good. 20 is clearly better than 15. That said we all know that we get better than that by a large margin on this continent.
