I agree - the bezel reminds me og a Tag. I think I had expected more, but on the other hand it's a good way to justify watchfunds for something else.

I'm already having that discussion with myself

I had that self-discussion yesterday!

If this is it from Breitling at Baselworld for this year (which it clearly is) then while it pains me to say it, I am seriously disappointed. I was hoping for at least one totally iconic model to go with the great acheivement of the B01, but just as Carl Bucherer has disappointed by putting their CFB A1000 in a dog of a case, so Breitling have screwed up in my eyes. Fortunately not to the same extent as Bucherer, but enough.

Don't get me wrong here, the B01 is a FINE achievement, but I'm not impressed with the direction of the styling.

Some of their dial revisions (the Datora and Monty) don't work for me at all and look like the kind of thing Omega have been doing with the DeVille over recent years, and other changes (if indeed there are any on the Skyracer and Navi World) are so minor they may as well not have bothered.

Oh well, never mind. Only 12 months to go till the next Baselworld.

But by then I suspect that my new model focus could well be away from Breitling.

I have at least three watches in my head for my 'Breitling Basel' budget - and none of them are Breitlings now.

Funnily enough, so do I.

i think the datora looks terrible i am so glad i have a proper one, is the designer on somethig at the moment, the 125th anni head looks good, very good, but why do i want a skyracer in a navi cse?

i like the B01 chronomat, not sure anout the dial box or bezel font yet but hoping in real life its as good as some of the piccys make it look.

so all in all i am with you guys not impressed.

still have 3 on my list and with at least one soon to be for sale of my current stable the 4 i want will come sooner.

Alex

Sharkmouth,

thx for the link! Seeing the results I'm sad though. Maybe next year...

Best regards: Robertus

Well, I'm used to being in the minority, so here goes --
I think the new bezel is terrific. I'd have to see one in
the flesh to be sure, but I might like it (cough, cough)
even more than the old bezels. :) As to the dial, I'm
indifferent to the square inset. And yes, the romans
are a bit much. Time will only tell how this watch stands
up to its predecessors...but I think it will make its own place
in Breitling history.

I agree with drax. I like the new chronomat and I predict some of you will come around as well. It looks more sporty and the face seems smaller. I vote YES on B01!

On the Datora it's the new date ring.

Can't really see on the Montbrillant.
