I didn't desert! I just went a bit AWOL....

Again, many thanx for the "welcome back" - this weekend is special for me as I'm making a pilgrimage to the "Boutique" in Florence (Italy) - spur of the moment thing really - just fancied a burn down the motorway so we're off tomorrow morning...

I'll be back next week - with photos  so have a great weekend everyone :D

The Panerai Boutique? Nice. :D

Look forward to seeing the photos. I may be visiting Florence next year and that's one place I'll definitely be visiting. Have a great weekend.

Sportback,

I always knew you were a bit misguided but I never dreamed you were capable of TOTALLY LOSING YOUR MIND. Now that you have admitted to dabbling in little wafer watches and Gymnasium Wall Clocks we can see that the situation is clearly OUT OF CONTROL. I have a treatment plan for you that Driver 8 and Roff will support. First, go out and secure 5 Super Avengers and 2 Bentley's. Strap on 2 Super Avengers to your right wrist and 2 Bentley's to your left wrist. Then hang another Super Avenger around your neck with a chain. After you have done this place the other 2 Super Avengers around your ankles, one for each ankle. Once you have totally SATURATED your body in serious, substantial LING steel, leave them there for one month. As these models are waterproof you can shower with them so there is no need to take them off for the full month. When you go out wear long pants and long sleeved shirts so you don't look ridiculous. There is no need to advertise to the world that you are an AFFLICTED defector suffering from serious mental disorders, we will keep this between us because we want you back and we want you Healthy again. Doing this will allow the healing power of all these LINGS to soak in to your body and mind and it wouldn't hurt to spend some time each day standing in the mirror looking at all of this fabulous LING steel as it heals you. You will be covered in LING power from head to toe. After one month if the affliction is still present we will try strapping several more LINGS around your waist connected to a belt and of course the belt will have to be made of GATOR skin. I think the first treatment plan will work without the need for the belt but we will have that plan as a back up in the event this plan is not potent enough. So get started NOW because after all this is going to take a month and you are steadily slipping into oblivion here. If we don't see pictures soon of this treatment plan underway then Driver8, Roff and I may have to discuss plans for an intervention. And don't be upset with us because we are only doing this for your own good. LET'S GET THE TREATMENT PLAN UNDERWAY TODAY !

Roff,

It's good to be back and I think you will agree that this treatment plan should work for Sportback. If we have to I think that Vaporizing some LING steel from an old bracelet or any piece of LING steel and then having Sportback INHALE the vapors may do the trick. That would work too and maybe even faster with the direct delivery to his brain.

Agreed on the first two points

I must support you on the third point despite the fact that....

The fourth point isn't worth the time of day.

I assure you that a Panerai will NEVER be on my wrist unless they come out with something that has some STYLE. If I want to see that kind of PLAIN, DRAB stuff I can just go to a gymnasium or the county jail and look at the government issued wall clocks .

Oh goody - things are getting back to normal here :guns: (Though how the hell I'd know defeats me...)

If you look at my current signature you'll see a 'small' collection of, how do you say it? 'Breitlings'...

Don't worry, I'll bring back some photos of THE "Boutique" in Florence - and I'll try to avoid going into any jails or gymnasiums (gymnasia?) while I'm there :nana:

Great to see you're still here mate (And mates) - I can see I'm going to enjoy myself, all over again!!!!!!

Gotta pack - speak to you next week

Ian

Sportback,

Strap on the THERAPEUTIC LINGS before you leave and just wear long pants and long sleeved shirts so nobody knows you are suffering and in recovery.

 This is GREAT! It's just like old times on here!

Ling Man, it's great to have your guiding light back here again. Kind of like a Samurai warrior returning to battle after apparently hanging up his sword, when in actual fact he was only away honing his skills.

There's be a proliferation of what can only be described as "TITANIUM LOVE" on here since you've been away. We've kind of let it go in your absence, but I think we need to wheel out one of your master-class comments on titanium watches. If I remember rightly the words were, "It's so dull it looks like it's been baked in a pizza oven" and "The kind of thing you'd wear when mixing concrete or doing some plumbing".

EXACTLY,

LINGS need to be POLISHED. Maybe it's time to look again at how the word "polished" is pertinent here. I posted this before and I'll do it again. When a promising athlete is working his way up people don't say "he's got potential and as soon as he get's DULL and Brushed he will be a star" NO they say "he's got great potential and as soon as he "POLISHES" his skills he will be a star". POLISH is the finishing touch on many products. Titanium is suited for tools and applications where fine polished goods may be damaged and scratched. That DULL Titanium look is great as I said for PLUMBING and pouring Concrete. If you want that look all you have to do is take your LING down to the local Pizzeria and have them stick it in the oven for about 30 minutes, it will come out nice and DULL.

Altair,

I must admit this Panny is a DRAMATIC improvement with the polish job. Now if it were on a fine LING style bracelet it would even be somewhat tolerable. The polish improves it by 500 %. It still has that sick SCAFFOLDING though around the crown that looks like a sheet metal "stamping" but I admit that this particular watch is much much better. It still doesn't hold a candle to even a 3/4 LING like a Chronomat but it's one of the best looking ones I've ever seen. Really with just a few little added features those Panerai's could be OK. For example, if they were thicker, had 3 sub dials, more sleek, smooth lines, did away with the SCAFFOLDING of stamped sheet metal around the crown, put more detail on the dials and POLISHED them they would be just fine. However with all of that you could just buy a LING. It's kind of like guitar amplifiers, all of these manufacturers build amps that have all the same specs as MARSHALL'S, well all you have to do is just buy a MARSHALL !
