I'll ignore the Panerai comment (why haven't we banned Jay yet with that signature?)

However, to the comment in Archie's last post, the Old Navitimer is certainly not an A$8,000 watch in 2009!

hey Archie,

You should have laced him one! I hate these clowns!

A dealer once offered me 400$ for my 1981 ROLEX Air King Date (Super mint and fully serviced by Rolex)

I finally sold it privately for $2000 :D

I also rang a guy who was advertising in the classifieds "BUYING WATCHES".....
he offered me $400- for my Omega Speedmaster... I told him I would take 4 at that price.

Dealers really suck.... at the Rolex level the prices are alot better - hence money in the bank value of Rolex pieces.... Breitling are very poor and dealers scoop in and try and steal.....

The biggest surprise is the fact that the dealers try and ask "what do you want?" line of questioning... WHAT MR DEALER... do yo have no idea what my watch is worth? Do you have no idea what you could sell it for? Perhaps you should not be dealing in watches if you have no idea to values!

WHAT ARE THE LONDON DEALERS LIKE? (I suspect worse!)

When buying items myself my first question is/was “how much do you want for it?” I said this just in case a person under valued something.
