Hot tubs are a potential issue because of a) sudden temperature changes and b) chemicals. The pressure is a non issue unless it's a Navitimer or similar low water resistance piece and any water for them is an issue, nothing specific to a hot tub. The temperature change issues are no worse than with a hot shower, but because the water is more likely to be in contact with the watch in a hot tub it is of grater concern.

And of course none of that is remotely relevant to the OP's question :-)

Roff as an engineer I don't buy it. A 30F difference won't matter. We design aerospace fuel pumps using identical metals and seals. We worry about 200-300F shifts in seconds. Not 30F. Seal glands don't require tight tolerances at these environmental conditions. I can't disclose our designs but can say we are drop tight for a 400F delta temperature. And it's nothing fancy, some are even dynamic seals.
