Just seeing this now. Damnfoolman I am speechless to be honest, thats an amazing gesture!!! That would be amazing, I've not been in touch with them since they sent me the other box. I don't want to put you out and would be disappointed myself if you sent a box and they couldn't find mine. I'll give them a call tomorrow and see if they're any developments and let you know??

Nice guy, thanks for the offer! :superbow:

Morning Andrew,

Thanks for the message and PM, most appreciated.

Let me know how you get on, as I say, if they don't find it, rest easy I'll plonk one of mine in the post too you on Monday. I'd do it tomorrow but I'm on Godson duties :)

I'm not planning on selling any of my watches anytime soon, so really the boxes are just sitting there.

I'd honestly be pleased to help. It's really nothing out of the ordinary.

Best of luck today. Drop me a message on the outcome ok?

Have a good weekend

Take care

Davey.

Sad you've had a poor experience with BUK. Mine have always been excellent.

Tell you what, I'll send you a Bakelite box, such as which you sent to the service centre. Happy to do this with no cost too you.

iF they find your original, I'll drive up there and get it to replace the one I'll send too you. They are only 25 miles or so from me. I live in East Sussex.

If not, hey. No biggie.

I'd be happy knowing you have the full set once again.

Pm me your address and I'll send early next week.

Take care matey.

Davey

Davey, I've just phoned to see if they can have a look again and get back to me. Guy on the phone was nice and understands the situation. They'll let me know next week now I would imagine so I'll keep in touch. Still think its an utter shambles they managed to lose that. I know they've sent a band spanking new box to me and probably there's not much else they can do but its pretty sub standard tbh. I'm not angry just a little dissapointed.

Anyway, have a great weekend and thanks again!

My box has amazingly been found after a kind young man at Breitling took the bull by the horns and looked into it for me. Just as well you posted Davey or I would never have contacted them back.

So thanks very much for you're amazingly kind offer but you're safe, I feel like I owe you one now.

Thanks again.

Andrew

Hooray for BUK, I've always had the greatest service from them.

Hey, you owe me nothing. It's simple. When someone can assist someone, why not?

Take care my virtual friend.

Davey

Glad you got it sorted Andrew.

Davey is one of the best and I'm lucky enough to class him as a personal friend. Even if he does paint by numbers.

:)

Stef

To me this is very simple.
A box is just a box, which probably explains why they could not give a hoot about your original box in the first place.
They have sent you a replacement shoe box in place of the superior Bakelite one.
Clearly demonstrating that they are miles away from understanding what their loyal collectors value.

Anyway, sounds loke it was sorted. Great.

Totally agree Wessa......It's not just 'a box'!!!! Whats wrong with these 'normal' people? :D

They are not normal people.
They live in the world of luxury glamour surrounded by Jet Tem pilots, wingwalker girls plus a variety of models.
Who gives a hoot about a box??? Well, the Bakelite one at least ;-)
Perhaps they should post it on their web site, something along the lines of: "Your precision instrument will require professional service from time to time. We would be delighted to take care of your instrument in the need of attention. Please do not send the box your instrument came in because we do not care about these trivial things and if you do then with a bit of luck you'r instrument will be returned to you on one of the crappy cardboard, shoe box like boxes."
