'The Best Breitling Ever Made' that is a very subjective comment, to you it may be the best and to others the Navitimer 01 could be the best and to others it could be a certain vintage piece. The Blackbird is a great watch for sure, and I'm glad that you have a passion for it, but a comment like that is very subjective to one's individual personal tastes. IMO there is no 'Best Ever' but I do think it is one of the best Breitlings. I will admit that it has the best Breitling bracelet ever produced, hands down in my opinion.
My motivation was to inspire some debate and also uncover a few gems that should be considered.

By the way you missed one of the best features--lumed subdial hands.

You are right, the lume on the watch is fantastic and extends its function beyond most windriders.
What's your opinion of the best?

Have to disagree on subject.
1)I won't covert the title, "Best Breitling Ever Made" on a non in-house piece.
2)300m is definitely not the best water resistance among the entire line, although I would say 300m is more than sufficient.
3)It's a piece that looks great on photo but somehow it doesn't look that nice on the wrist. That's just my personal opinion though because I have personally tried it but somehow didn't look as good as I expected, till now I still don't understand why.
Having said that though I can't really pick any faults on the design and feels that it is one of the best Breitling model, but not the best.
Whats the best in your opinion? Is the inhouse movement ready for prime time reliability? I have been thinking about new GMT.
The ETA/DD movement is very nice. 300m was enough for me to be used and considered as an everyday number. 500m is nice too of course.
I love how the blackbird looks so I guess we have to disagree on that one.
