Not sure who you are quoting with 'material focus', as I typed "materials focus" :poke:

just meant that to me i dont really care about what materials they use. i care more about getting back to awesome designs. thats why I quoted material focus and not materials with an S

I feel that exotic metals will bring a standout factor to our beloved brand. While introducing exotic metals I'd also like to see them go discreet instead of bling if that's even technically possible. Don't get me wrong I do love bling and function but I'd also like discreet sometimes.

I also voted for "exotic metals" but mostly with the thought of harder, more durable steels etc...
Accents of other metals (brass, tantalum, palladium, etc..) would be cool, but not at the stunning cost of using them as primary materials.

Unobtanium. I just like that word. :) actually I'm still happy with whats being put out now, I do however agree with the ceramic bezels. Other than that I'm good!

I'd like to see some ceramic bezels, case would be cool, but probably nothing to motivate my wallet...probably could not afford/justify a ceramic cased watch anyway. Other exotic metals would be good buzz for the brand IMHO.

Given that there was only vote I went titanium rather than ceramic because it seems closer to Breitling's place in the market. That is, I'd like to see some ceramic in the lineup as much as most everyone else on here, but a lot of other manufacturers are in on that so it would be harder for B/ling to be distinctive in using it. But ti has been used on some of their most iconic watches, and it seems to me important that they compete with the best in that regard.

They are way behind with the incorporation of this material in their dive watches. Rolex, Omega, and even ORIS have been using ceramic for years now.

I like ceramic bezels and cases, but from a Breitling perspective, I'm not sure how a ceramic case fares in a deep water pressure test. Ie. Does it rule out the windrider and aeromarine line up straight away?
Also that would mean no bracelet option with a ceramic case

I would love to see carbon fiber in the avenger line.

I met up with some friends the other night and noticed that one of them, a mechanic had his wedding ring on his keychain on one of those "caribeeners/metalclips". I couldn't believe this is where he kept his ring all day while he worked. I asked him how it has been holding up and his answer was forged carbon baby, no scratches at all. He was right this thing was totally pristine. Now, I know if I had my platinum ring next to someone who sneezes I will probably have a new scratch. How would forged carbon hold up as a watch case? I know it wouldn't scratch like ceramic, but I think it would also be strong enough to take hit or two.

Audemars Piguet use FC on their cases and bezels on some if their ROO, and they look awesome. I've heard they hold up quite well too, comparable to ceramic.

Forged Carbon is apparently very tough (it's one-third as dense as titanium but much stronger), but if you want scratch and general damage resistance, then tungsten is the way forward IMO. I'd like to see a tungsten Breitling as the essentially permanent polished finish you can get from tungsten fits very nicely with Breitling's all polished look.
