I am really happy to hear, day by day, stories of buyers happy with the new in-house movements. Being the maker of the most stylish watches in the industry (strictly my opinion) it is only a matter of time before Breitling moves on par with the "other" brand in the industry who only make refinements to their age old line.

Sorry, didn't mean to hijack your thread, OP. Keep us updated on your purchase, good luck and health!

No worries at all, that's what it is for. I could talk about the Navi GMT ALL DAY!

I appreciate that. Hopefully I can get my hands on one in the next 6-8 months. Once the funds are back to where I could possibly make a move.

I'm thinking of selling my 2 navi worlds in the near future to fund a navi Gmt love the size. Anyone know what retail will be on the Navi GMT?

10,400 on bracelet
9,400 on strap (croc)

It's a good move. I am selling my SA when the time is right. I haven't worn it since I got my 6.75. Frankly in comparison it's to thick, wears heavy, and really I can't stop wearing the 6.75.

I'm in the same position. Looking at the World, as it's less expensive.

So, this thread has good info for me.

Reading through the differences between the World and the GMT - some things I don't understand:

1 - the logo - applied vs painted? Do they look a lot different in-person? Is applied better?
2 - here's the biggie - I don't understand the difference in movements. What's an in-house movement and is it better? Appreciate it if someone can explain.

The World's seem to be running a lot cheaper than the GMT. Smaller, but at 46, still a good size. The 01 is 46 and more expensive than the World.

So, leaning towards World. But, not sure if I'll regret it later.

Welcome to BreitlingSource. Applied vs. painted is personal choice, the applied logo adds depth to the dial and many think that it looks more refined (it is gold).

An in house movement is, as the name suggests, a movement designed and built in house by Breitling. The World uses a movement produced by a company that specialises in producing movements (ETA) and then sells them to many different companies. Breitling make modifications to those movements but they are still essentially generic movements. In house is perceived as more exclusive and allows features not available in generic movements - longer power reserve for example, but they cost more. On the flip side they also hold their value better as they are more collectible.

Thanks! So, is it worth spending an additional (approx) $1k on an 01 (same size) or an additional $2.5-$3k (approx) on a GMT (larger)? I'm not sure yet if the GMT will be too big at 48mm. Still have to see one in-person.

Does the 01 have an in-house movement?

Whether it is worth it is up to you.

The Navi 01 is in house.

I got the GMT because I wanted an in-house movement, the display back is great and it's just a stunning piece. I have large (~8.5") wrists and it looks normal on me. You can decide for yourself.
