Now that is a really really good looking piece. My favorite so far, I want one!

Probably my favorite new release this year from Breitling. Would love to see a white dial on a brown croc.

Wow, that is genuinely nice. I really like it. Actually if it fits my wrist, I might well purchase one eventually.

Ya that BUT you can, and I, can look forward to the SH market. Ironicly IMO really because at say 50% off retail is where they should be priced at brand new.

Looks nice. As Roff stated I wouldn't mind the Bentley globe on there either but as Driver stated looks fine without it too.

Yes, yes, yes. Love it. My only quibble is the red. Not such a fan. But apart from that... lovely.

Yeah definitely. These in-house pieces are 2nd-hand-only purchases as far as I'm concerned.

I was just thinking the other day about how far watch prices have increased over the last 10 to 15 years. 15 years ago, I remember that a brand new Superocean was around £900. As far as I know an SO44 today is just shy of £3000. If we assume a real-terms inflation rate of circa 5% a year, an SO today should only cost £1780. And on the basis of average salary inflation over the last few years, it should be even less.

And that's for just an ETA based piece. The price of the in-house models have gone into stratospheric regions of late.

To be honest, as much as I want an in-house Navi World to come along, I'm pretty sure I'll never be able to afford one (not new anyway, and not until my mortgage is paid off!) as Navis are always considerably more than other comparable models, so if the TO Unitime is over £8k, I'm sure an in-house Navi World GMT will be upwards of £10k. Plus at the £10k mark I start to get a little nervous wearing it..... which entirely defeats the object of owning it.

Just received a marketing e-mail about it - apparently there is also a blue dial, a LE 250 in red gold and (of course) a LE 1,000 Blacksteel.

Marketing blurb below:

The Transocean Unitime Pilot combines an innovative Manufacture Breitling caliber featuring an ultra-practical worldtime system, with a technical look echoing Breitling’s grand tradition of watches for aviators.

From the first Breitling onboard chronographs in the 1930s to the legendary 1952 Navitimer, along with countless models dedicated to skyborne heroes, the black dials with white indications have always been a token of recognition as the best instruments for pilots. The Transocean Unitime Pilot highlights this understated, readable and functional design by teaming a satin-brushed steel case with a steel mesh bracelet. Thanks to its entirely crown-adjustable worldtime system (one smooth move corrects all indications, including the date, either forwards or backwards), this high-performance automatic chronograph proves the ideal partner for all those who – whether in the cockpit or the passenger compartment – constantly juggle with timezones around the world. Manufacture Breitling Caliber B05 with its patented mechanism is chronometer-certified by the COSC (Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute), the ultimate benchmark in terms of precision and reliability. The Transocean Unitime Pilot is also available with a blue dial, a polished red gold case, as well as in a 1,000-piece limited series with a black steel case and bracelet. Each to his own flight plan.

I like it so much better without the globe. Perfect the way it is IMHO. :lingsrock:

That comment was before I realised that the Bentley globe was fishnet stocking designed. Agree completely that it is better without that!!
