Might be right on the early Chronomat - 2 and 6 both maybe.

Roff, I think you're right - condition aside, they look and measure the same. I can confirm that the markings tally exactly when placed against each other. One is all steel, the other white on steel. And probably from modern, early Chronomats (81950, A13048).

And we've covered 1, 3 and 4.

So it looks like we're left with Number 5. Best guess so far is that it's probably a 40's or 50's Chronomat, (but not a 769 as it's bigger than expected)? I've double-checked the measurement - 35.5mm across outer, 30mm across inner.

So come on chaps - which of you is going to claim that last scone?? Is there some slightly larger variant with the red 'Telemetre' and 'Arrow' markings?

Thanks to Roff (again), and Fred and Paul - how you guys retain this detailed info is like Black Magic to me..

Cheers

Mike

I measured the distance across my extra 769 dial today and it's definitely 29mm. I checked the 808's and they're different too. Number 5 is a bit of a mystery. Most likely it is from a vintage piece though but something with a rotating bezel. I'll send the pic to Craig to see what he thinks. He usually has a 769 or two he's working on and can probably get a correct measurement.

769s are 29mm (we just had one w/ 28.95 that Craig measured, actually), 808s are a lot smaller too, can not think of a vintage piece this would fit, Paul - note this one is not straight, but slanting - in combination w/ the red arrow I only know these from the Bentleys, but none of them have the red "Telemetre". strange

The only watches that I can think of with this style are vintage - but size does seem way too big for that, this one really is a mystery.
