Agreed. Or, if you really do (desperately) want to change your watch - there's no point at all to send it to Breitling for premium money afterwards - let your local watchmaker continue to do the job.

Agreed, because assuming that your local watchmaker has been competant enough to do the mods, you'd have to hope they are competant enough to perform a service too.

I had a little look on the net yesterday and there are a few watch service centres on-line that use pretty much the same service equipment as that used by Breitling. In other words, the totally dismantle the movement, put all the bits in a basket and put them through a cleaning bath, and then test the reassembled movement for 4 to 5 days and a test rig, etc.

I guess any of these places would do the job if you really felt the pressing need to make some modifications.

As long as they had access to OEM (or more likely OEM quality) parts.

First of all in the USA Breitling can not void your warranty on the entire watch because you installed a diamond bezel. It's simply BS. Just like your car dealer can't void the warranty on your car if you install an aftermarket stereo system or air filter. It is up to the company providing the warranty to PROVE that your modifications caused damage to other components voiding the warranty on only those specific parts.

The problem is that joe little guy needs to go up against big Breitling. They know your not going to do it so they just give you a hard time.

If however you find that you need legal assistance to get your watch serviced under the warranty keep your legal receipts because if you prevail they will be required to pay your legal bill. This is because the folks that drafted the mos magnuson warranty act anticipated that joe little guy can't prevail against the big corporation.

The fact is they can write anything that they want on a warranty card but in doing so they can not override the law.
