The 'Dink have chimed in as well, saying it's just as much a man's watch. My Top Time is 38mm!

I have no idea who runs the Breitling marketing department - Hank the Cod comes to mind, switched over from the design department.

"Dear Breitling,

You are stupid, stupid, stupid.

Sincerely,
Great Benefits Insurance Company"

Really, that watch is better looking IMO than the regular TO. And Wessa is right - it clearly has long lugs. Plus is would be very legible with just the two subdials. Marketing this for women is ridiculous and once more shows how out of touch Breitling is.

I really like the watch, why pigeon hole it into marketing it only as a women's watch? Makes no sense. I have small wrists and would consider it if they would have just been non-descript as to what they see as the target audience.

I agree with all the posts regarding this as a ladies watch-

It just shows how much Breitling has lost touch!

Cheers-

It's a shame because I think it's a nice looking watch in a good size, but I'd have a difficult time buying a watch that's "especially for women."

:yeahthat

I was excited to see the email...right up until the femininity statement.

Agree with everyone else. Labeling it as feminine seems like a pretty big blunder.

That watch doesn't look feminine at all. What is Breitling smoking these days?

What looks like men's watch has become a female's watch. Gotta see the watch in person first. Maybe it looks more feminine in real life, although I don't think so judging from the looks of it.

All I can say is WOW!!! The fact that that the marketing dept decided to label this fantastic looking watch a female model is a huge blunder! 38.5mm is by no stretch a small watch and to emasculate those with under a 7" wrist will not help lagging sales. Nice looking watch though

Looks pretty good, and I know many ladies who would be happy to wear a 38mm watch. Nice bit of work I think.

I can't add much to the discussion, but given how dumb of a marketing move this is by Breitling, I can't help but chime in.

Perhaps later in the week Breitling will launch the "feminine" version of the Super Avenger. Idiots . . .

Sorry, but as clunky as the marketing might be, I look at this on the positive side. They want to attract females to the brand, and being in the main such big watches, I guess most females would give Breitling a bit of a miss just on sheer size and weight of the watches they make. Apart from a few centre second ladies watches, Breitling don’t offer that much in a reasonable sized chronograph watch for women. Well, that’s how it seems to me. So this is just a plea to females to take note before the next Rolex or TAG.

My better half does not know how I can wear Lings at all, as they all seem so heavy and big to her. She loves all the B’s I have and I think secretly would love to have one for herself. She is a brand fan but believes they are too big as Chronographs for her wrist! The Chrono Colt is big and the Colt Oceane is a centre sweep. So the Chrono 38 fills a hole in the lineup I think. She will be interested in this one. The Gold version looks very neat indeed and has good attention to detail on the swage lines.

They are unashamedly going for the feminine market judging by the advertising. I say, more strength to their arm, as this model has instant appeal. I am sure Breitling will get the message very quickly if there is any offense taken, in the meantime what a great watch offer.

I think the issue is that they've missed a trick in not marketing it as for someone "who prefers a smaller watch" etc; as is, the suspicion is that for every one female sale they pick up with the explicitly 'feminine' pitch there might be ten male sales lost.
