Somehow, however, this one's had the most enduring hold on me.

Headwind is my personal favorite as well.

If we can include LEs, it's the Old Navitimer Mecanique.

If not, the AOPA Navi.

I've had a thought...........

How do you guys feel about a Best Breitling Ever tournament?

I'll have to give some thought to the logistics, but we choose 32 (or 64) Breitlings and randomly draw for seeding. Then match them up tournament style and have voting open for (say) a week. Winners move on to the next round, losers are out.

Dumb idea, best idea ever, Roff what the heck are you talking about???????

I like it! It'd be a bit of fun, and as long as no one tries to skew the results we might have an interesting winner!

Great mind must truly think alike! :poke: That was in intension for this tread. To get a idea of the models members would like to see, our choice rather that my choice for a poll. I beleive a poll only allows a certain amount of options. So mod help required!

I love the tournament idea Roff. As to the watch, even though I've never owned one myself i'd go with the 806. It established Breitling's place like none of their other watches has. Although I do have a soft spot for the Serie Speciale!

+1, but let us not forget the Chronomat 769, actually all Navis and the modern Montbrillant are based on this 1942 watch.

I think what we would have to do is separate the threads - maybe in the projects section, promoted in the main section, and have a thread for each A vs. B. So if we had 32 to start with the nweek 1 would have 16 threads - voting only, no discussion, week 2 would be 8, week 3 would be the quarter finals, week 4 the semis and week 5 the final. If we started with 64 then it would end up going to a 6th week. We can time limit polls, block revoting, and if we promote enough there should be enough interest to generate realistic results.

This could be some fun as long as no one ends up crying when their choice gets voted out :D
Another option is to make it sticky in this section for the duration of the "tournament".
My favorites for now TOC with the Navi millimeters behind.
Now, when we say Navi, does it need to be further specified with the exact navi model?
Same perhaps goes for the Chronomat, 13048, 13050, 13352, etc...? A, B....?
Should we consider some grouping perhaps?
