It's pretty clear from these photos that it's the same bracelet, it's just that reflections on the polished version make it harder to discern the facets. (Found these pics on a search, so apologies if one of them belongs to you.)

I see that pic and have two thoughts:

(1) DAMN that is a nice looking watch! (So nice, it almost hurts.)

(2) DAMN YOU, Breitling, for not making watches like this any more!

Says it all, doesn't it? Nice work, JS.

Just to confirm what has already been said, here's my understanding ( I have owned two headwinds, so have done a bit of research on them).

The faceted bracelet is standard. It as made in both polished and satin/brushed finishes, although the polished is more common.

And yes, it's an awesome wach. Mine is on it's way back from the spa....here's a pic of it before it left:

thanks everyone, this is what i was hoping to hear. i have another question;

For the exact watch I pictured, what would be a fair price for this watch in nearly mint condition but with no box or papers?

At the risk of being called obtuse, was the non-faceted bracelet also standard? It sounds like both finishes and bracelets were factory options, but it would seem the polished finish/non-faceted bracelet was more common. Am I reading this correctly?

I don't recall seeing one on a non faced bracelet. There were two finishes (I believe the satin finish came later in the model run), but only remember seeing faceted bracelets with headwinds.

Did you see the photos I posted above? The brushed and polished bracelets appear to be the same, it's just that the facets are more difficult to see on the polished version due to reflections.

Yeah that. Maybe we can clear this up by referencing the Blackbird. It came (hate to type that in past tense) in polished and brushed version on a faceted Pilot bracelet. Same deal with the Headwind.

I did see your photos, but I also saw Admin's Youtube Headwind review. His Headwind is polished, and the Pilot clearly does not have facets. So, that raises the question: did it come that way standard, or did someone switch out the faceted bracelet for an aftermarket non-faceted bracelet?

I'm not trying to beat a dead horse here. There's just conflicting information, and I'm trying to sort it out.

EDIT - ooopps - missed the side view pics - absolutely a faceted pilot bracelet!

Yep, I stand corrected. But...did the Headwind come standard on a faceted Pilot, or are those aftermarket additions? Evidently it came standard with both brushed and polished finishes, although if the ones I've seen for sale are any indication, the brushed ones are rarer.

Yes, standard

So then, the watch on Admin's Headwind was an aftermarket addition? May seem like a dumb question, but nobody has actually answered it yet. We've established there are two standard finishes - were there two standard bracelet styles? Was the faceted Pilot the only standard bracelet option for the Headwind, or was it also offered on non-faceted Pilot?
