Why were these recalled by Breitling?

Apparently the red colour wasn't very stable. I don't know if that means fading or colour-bleed, but apparently it just didn't stand up as well as the other colours.

The strap was prone to bleeding, which was why it was recalled by Breitling

Or did they use red # 7 and now they are finding these straps cause cancer ? RED really what would that go with ? I don't see it as a masculine color for a strap . But I have been wrong before. :shock:

I must be honest but I've never seen the appeal of the red strap myself either. Doxa and Omega do oranage straps for their dive watches and I can just about buy that being as it's a "diving colour", but red rubber doesn't do a lot for me. Each to their own though.

I think the red strap looks great on the White Sa with batons, anything else well I am not a fan

I think it looks great against the black watch, of all my Breitling's I think this would only work with my black SA.
