My favourite is the Montbrillant Datora, beautiful face, perfect size at 43mm and quite a complicated movement. I do own one on a white/silver dial and love it!

Whats your all time favourite Breitling??

Sorry you got fed to the wolves at RWF over a decision about trading a watch and thought some were just outright rude! Enjoy the forum and any watch brand you decide to own...

Thanks, I was expecting alot of Rolex bias but can't believe how blinkered some opinions are, Breitlings make great watches as do Rolex.

2 best watches at Breitling, Navi LE & Navi 1461 LE 2011  :wowzers
B01 & B19 calibers
Image

A tool watch, the Avenger M1 in titanium of course
(Chrono Avenger M1 is the only chronograph that is both water-resistant and operational at a depth of 1000 M. This unprecedented technical feat has been achieved by the principle of the magnetic puchpiece, a Breitling proprietary patented device enabling activation of chronograph controls that precludess any direct contact between the pushpiece and the movement. In other words, its control are operated through the metal of the case.). :lingsrock:

And the future Emergency one I hope (to save life) very soon this year in 2012 or next year (Salon du Bourget 2013 why not?) :superman:

so many fabulous pics ....its hard for me to choose ONE!

I've had a fair number of Lings in the past, but still the top 2 on my wishlist:

Navi 01
Bentley Mark VI

I'm still torn between them

No, you read it wrong. It shows Wednesday December 28, the photo was taken two weeks ago.

Sadly Breitling don't yet make the perfect Breitling for me. The absolute perfect Breitling for me would be a Navi World with the B04 movement inside.

However, from what's been thus far, I'll have to go with the current Transocan Chrono 01, and the Navi 01 in equal first place. Both are wonderfully classic and timeless in design, but they also utilise the one TRUE thing that can set any company apart and above any number of other brands (both large and micro) out there - and that is an in-house movement.

I'm noticing more and more these days that there are a number of micro-brands out there who are producing some really great stuff for a fraction of the price of "the big boys" while using the same old ETA base movements, so IMO the big players need to find ways of differentiating themselves to retain their position, other than just relying on their historical names. Movement advancements are the way to do that as micros can rarely compete with them in that arena due to the vast R&D costs involved.

So I was always going to say that the best Breitling thus far IMHO is a classically styled, in-house equiped piece (or two in this case).

wow nothing from the Chronomat line? I would have thought there will be some folks that would be inclined to say the Chrono Evo or B01...

I'll be the first then, I bought my favorite Breitling - B01, for sure!

I think you'll find that it's "that" bezel on the B01 that's the primary reason it's not picking up the votes here. Even after a couple of years since it was introduced it's still a massive polariser of opinions. I personally used to hate it when it first came out, but I've warmed to it quite a bit over the years.......... just still not enough to make it my best ever Breitling. (Still a fine watch though. )

well, I´ll add some vintage perspective to this, as the OP did not specify that the "best Breitling" must be one in the current lineup. My Breitling collection spans more than 70 years, but my choice might be surprising.

The watch that "started it all" is the Chronomat 769, the first sliderule Breitling, launched in 1942, 12 years before the Navitimer and the forefather of most of the choices of the other members.

For me this is the most beautiful Breitling of all times.

So many great watches hard to pick, but ever since I saw the LE Avenger Code Yellow with "stencil" numerals I can't get it out of my mind. When you see on for sale let me know.
