OK - (1) polished finishes generally have more flash than brushed, but (2) a brushed watch can be more "flashy" than a polished watch depending on size and style.

A pre-2010 Superocean was all polished but never struck me as having and ounce of flash. My CSO has a bit of flash. My Bentley GT Racing (brushed) or brushed Blackbird had more flash than the SO or CSO.

Finish is just one factor. An important one, no doubt, but not the litmus test. Brush a Motors or SA and I'd bet they would still come across as flashy.
