It's worth exactly what anyone is willing to pay - the argument is pointless!

nice looking piece but way over priced. JMO

out of interest why is it way over priced? I have looked for other inhouse chrono's and this seems like a good price compared to what else is out there. but i am new to the watch game so i might have missed some obvious other options

IMO Breitling is not on the level as some of the other luxury watch makers. Correct me if I am wrong but doesnt this watch retail for 20k? Personally I would never spend 20k on a Breitling regardless of the in house piece. Are you saying that Breitling is comparable to brands like JLC or Panerai or Rolex?? Like i said nice watch, but over priced. I am not saying they dont have the right to ask for whatever they want....im just saying if I had an extra 20k to spend this wouldnt even be on my radar. And im pretty sure im not the only one who feels like this.

It's not 20k it's like £6100 rrp

The gold one is around USD20K. Is it worth it? - a buyer will think so.

agreed ulitmately its up to the buyer. and like i said in my previous post Breitling has the right to ask for whatever they think this piece is worth. All i am stating is that IMO this is not worth the money.

edit - i do believe that the steel version at 7600 is worth the money for the design and the in house movement. however if you compare a navitimer (18k gold head) with a retail value of 13k to the gold version of the Trans ocean at 20k the price difference is 7 grand. sure these are 2 different models but functionality wise chrono to chrono and coming from the same manufacturer i think its a fair comparisson. To me the additional 7 grand spent would not justify the cost of the inhouse movement.

"Every man has his price" as the saying goes (better substitute with "person" for political correctness lest I get snacked   )

Fact is for me personally, I'd never buy a gold watch regardless of price. I think large pieces of solid gold worn are verging on tasteless. The gold-accented pieces are ok - rider tabs, bezels, links etc. Just my 2p. Looking forward to a SS TO LE on mesh though.

If everyone thought the same, life would be more boring! :) Come to think of it, I've got very narrow taste in watches, I could think from only one or two of everything in the market I would really want. But then I've never sold a watch either - they are always for keeps (unless the option is to sell a kidney).
