The l337 navi b1.... epic! :D

If you ever decide to sell your # will go a long way to draw attention from well-off hackers! lol

My AD had to explain to me why this LE number was unique, as I apparently was not very "LEET." You're only the second person to comment on it, so I think having an LE number like 1 or 2000 would go much further for resale. However, if a rich Microsoft programmer ever gets the itch for a Navi, I'm sure I could get a little extra out of mine.

Am I being a bit thick? Have NO idea  what the significance of this number is.

I would think a good number to have other than 1 or 2000 would be 1884, or from a personal point of view, 1972 (my birthyear!)

mpthomas, no you're not being think. The number 1337 is short for "Leet," which is short for "elite." It's slang internet jargon that's been around for many years, but unless you're really into computer games, you probably have no idea what is significant about the number 1337. I had no idea.

You're not missing much, don't worry.

I have purchased 1444 from an AD in the UK last week. I will post some pictures as soon as I can. It was ordered direct from Breitling on a Navitimer bracelet for me and arrived absolutely perfect in terms of packaging, etc. This watch is utterly sublime, and I am so happy with it.

Out of curiousity, what is the list price of the Navi 01 in the UK on bracelet?

Bought mine on a cruise vacation in St Thomas. Wasn't planning on buying a watch at all, but as soon as I handled the navi, that was it.

Trouble is that to get it, I had to oblige the wife with a diamond ring to the same value!

We have had a VAT tax rise in the UK to 20% recently and of course Breitling increased their prices from June 01. I ordered mine before the Breitling rise and the UK retail price was £7350.00 on the Navitimer bracelet. The cost is now £7410.00. I got a reasonable discount from the AD and am happy. As I said owning this watch feels like a privilege in itself.

I feel a bit better seeing that list price now. Didn't know the UK price when I was abroad and couldn't find it on the Internet. The AD on the island wouldn't budge on the price, but did manage to get a black leather calf strap, a bb cap, orange backpack and a cool hoodie thrown in to sweeten the deal.

Total damage when I plucked up the courage to look at the Amex bill was around £5100.

Glad you got the deal you wanted. And of course Breitling in the UK don't send out free stuff like in the US. I have had caps and pens, etc in the past from dealers but these things don't bother me overall. UK prices are higher for everything from jeans to iPods. For me I work for myself very hard and have a good income coming in, no wife to nag me about spending, and so no one to answer to when I buy stuff like this. But I guess owning a watch like this is also a reflection of where I am in life right now, and I know I am lucky to be able to buy it.

it sure is a beautiful watch. Would love to get a matching Monty LE to make a pair. They had a LE 01 transocean as well, but I have been after a Navi for a while now and wasnt that keen on the mesh strap. You are right about the nagging wife though - despite however many rings, necklaces or earrings she buys, I always get told "why do you want another watch? All it does is tell the time and you can only wear one!"
