$4,500 seems pretty good for new, just make sure that all papers are there and that serial numbers match between watch, COSC and warranty.

If it's used then the price is a ripoff.

In terms of price increase, they have already happened for the US, not sure what happened with the BB as it is being discontinued, 20% is fairly attainable at many ADs, but Vegas can be a bit harder to achieve.

how would one describe the faceted links that are suppose to be on the BB? I have looked at videos online and pictures from the actual breitling site but, i want to know exactly what I am looking for
The prices here in Vegas do seem pretty high from all of the AD I have seen or talked to, the only reason I might have found this deal is cause its a jewelery trade show and the booths are from all over the country

The ends of each link is angled rather than rounded

Sorry, I assumed that it was used since it was a "jewelry show." Good deal if its new, not so good if its used.

I have been agonising over whether or not o wait for the new movement, buy a second hand one, a LE one as well as what strap / bracelet to get!

If you're waiting for an 01 Blackbird (or with some other in-house movement), you may be a waiting a while. Most recent word is that the BB is going to be discontinued this year. Whether this is a permanent discontinuation, or whether it will resurface with an in-house movement is anybody's guess. Even if Breitling does bring the BB back, who knows what design changes will be implemented? If you like the watch in its current incarnation, my advice would be to get it while you still can. My personal preference would be black dial, brushed, on the BB Pilot (faceted) bracelet, but that's just me.

As for how to tell if you're looking at the faceted bracelet, Al gave you what you need to look for. Also, if it's brushed, it's almost certainly the right bracelet, as the only other brushed Pilot is on the LE Chronomat 01, which won't fit the BB. Also, if you can compare it side by side with a standard Pilot, the difference will be obvious.

The price is very good, assuming it's new. However, if you want to buy new, be clear what "kind" of new watch you want. Are you looking for factory condition, sold through an AD, with valid manufacturer warranty and all its paperwork? Are you looking to score a gray market watch without all paperwork, and no manufacturer warranty? Are you OK with some dings or flaws, or do you want it to be flawless? With the current price increase, SRP on a BB with Pilot is just under $7500; with a 20% discount, you can get it for just under $6k. Getting it for $4500 suggests you won't be getting it in the same condition as you would going through an AD.

So I went to the Jewelery show and it turned out to be used, although he said it was new. He had no papers of any kind. I was really bummed out and kept looking around and found another dealer that had breitlings. He has no blackbirds but had a SA black face and steel band (originally what I wanted) that caught my eye. I inquired and it was $3800 with all the papers, certificate, warrenty, box, knowing that the retail was around $5000. I was able to talk him down to $3500 out the door... Any opinions of the price or decision

If the SA is new and the place was an authorized dealer, you got a good deal.
