Buck Rogers bezel on a BB....think I'm going to cry....

Pics curt. Duxford 10 (2009)

there's nothing "stealth" about the Buck Rogers bezel. I think it's fine on the Chronomat but don't want to see it on a BB..

At least 2 things about this bother me: (1) I will greatly miss the option of what I - emphasis on I - consider a proper watch versus the B01 whose bezel I will never appreciate nor own, and (2) Breitling has taken many potential owners off the Chronomat owner's list since the B01 Chronomt is decidedly longer than the Chronomat and many folks can only wear it if willing to look silly.

My AD was lamenting the Galactic line last week. Evidently people are voting with their checkbooks and Galctics are way behind in the exit polls. Starliners and Ladies Cockpits, and men's Cockpits used to fly out the door, not so for their inbred replacements.

One of my favorite things about Breitlings is the bezel. Seems clear that distinctly branded look is going away sooner rather than later.

I picked up My GFs Colt yesterday after it's service.

The AD mentioned Breitling and Tag in the same sentance (a couple of years ago I would have told him to think again, not so sure now....)

And that makes me sad.

Ha sharky. I was reading your post, and I'm in my phone so I dont see the poster and post at the same time. As soon as i read " longer than chronomat " i said " that's Tom. ".only you put such an emphasis on lug length. It's too bad you can't fit a b01. I think you want one if it fit your specs.

Yeah, that is a sad thought. I'm not sure I agree - yet - but I'm less and less enamored of Breitling's style choices of late. I think that's one of the reasons I like the CSO so much - it dates back to 2003, and just looks classic, imo. I can't imagine it's going to be around that much longer, given Breitling's general dislike of letting moss grow on any of their designs; and given what they did to the SOII, I'm guessing any changes to the CSO won't be for the better, at least per my own tastes. That's one of the reasons I bought it when I did.

And with it, they best be getting rid of the slogan "Instrument for Professionals." The only thing that you can do professionally with the new bezel is professionally not keep accurate time. :huh

My steaks will all be burnt now. :whiner:

you means that the Chronomat is not very popular in EU?

it's still the flagship and the best seller for Breitiling, i'm pretty sure.

No, I mean that the Steelfish is less popular in Europe compared to the US.

I guess I cut Kodiak's thread too much, it reads like this:

Hmm... does that mean the Steelfish will come out as a new model with an in-house movement? Can't imagine dropping it altogether as it is a very popular choice.

No problem, my fault. I edited my thread to avoid any misunderstandings.
