I rarely have a need for one. For things like parking meters, a diver's bezel works fine. Every now and again I find myself needing a chronograph, but it's rare. And I'm one of the weirdos who feels like if I don't use it, it's only so much fluff and shouldn't be there, so I find myself gravitating away from chronographs and more toward standard watches.

:yeahthat

I use my bezel also for parking meters. I used to prefer the look of a chronograph over anything else, but lately prefer a cleaner looking dial.

Hardly ever use a chronograph. In fact, I have about 25 watches in my rotation (some get very little wrist time) and of those, other than 6 G-Shocks, the only one I have with a chronograph function is is my Aerospace. I think the last time I used a chronograph was to time my son solving his Rubik's Cube (best time - 26 seconds!).

I use the chrono on my Cosmo when flying. The GPS records time in flight (speed greater than 30 kts), but I start the chrono at engine start and stop it at engine shutdown. The Hobbs meter is located in a spot that is difficult to see, so I verify it with the chrono. I use the chrono on my 1903 when I am cooking.

Mostly when flying but I use the bezel for under-60' time periods.
