Dude, just spin the pad sideways. Meaning it is supposed to sit in there horizontal, make it go vertical. It will still fit in the winder and the bracelet will hold. We have the same winders and a bunch of the same watches so I know this will work for you.

I know some contributors have "serious" opinions about this, but I would argue that storage of the watch has just as much, if not more, to do with how often it is wound. Keep the watch in a dark environment with moderate humidity and wind it every once in awhile and it will last forever. Store it in a dry place and never wind it and oh no, after 20 years, you may have to send it in for servicing for a few hundred dollars.

Seriously - when you are talking about $3-$10k+ watches, you're not going to destroy a watch because you didn't wind it. If the darn watch sits for 10 years without any attention, it's probably a good idea to get it serviced and looked at whether it was wound or worn regularly or not.

I'd be more concerned about a watch that was in several environments (dry, cold, damn, wet, etc.) and never worn/serviced, than one that sat in your drawer at home for 5 years before you remembered to wind it up. And really, if it's sitting for that long before you wear it without winding it, then get rid of it - you're obviously not that attached to it.
