Al,
Thanks, after you explained that it makes all the sense in the world. That really is a great looking strap. I didn't know how I would feel about ostrich, but that just looks sexy.

About the UTC, where can you get one? Does Breitling sell them individually or would you have to get it when you get the watch? I've seen the digital co-pilot module on the website, but not the one like you have.

Thanks guys. I must say ABP are very good! I had it on for a couple of hours last night and it felt (dare I say) as good if not better than a OEM job.
Great service and price and they followed my micro design adjustments for my 'way' of wearing.

UTC modules went out of production in 06 (the Co-Pilot is still made however it has never really had any pick up). Watch case heads differ in design so a UTC made for a B1 will not fit a Nav. What do you have Roman?

I think the B1 needs a UTC strap for winters. Going to get some retail tereepyyystuf.

Hell I miss Chuck (been a week here).

I'm about to buy a Blackbird from another member on here. It'll be my first Breitling, though I've been admiring them for a while and the Blackbird is, if not my "grail" watch, my "grail" Breitling. A UTC for a Chronomat should fit a BB since it's the same case, but I think I'll wait until I actually get the watch before I start buying extra stuff for it., though I am considering picking up a DPII.

I've never actually seen a watch with the UTC in person, so I don't know if I would really like it on me, but they do look very cool. I don't understand why they discontinued the UTC, I understand the idea of the co-pilot, but I don't think they look right on anything that doesn't have a digital display, just my opinion.

Damn that's pretty. I got a real noob type question. Is the UTC quatrz? I would think it is because it's so small, but you never know. I think that would look awesome on a black calf strap.

Yes the UTC is quartz.

Thanks Driver. I thought so, now that I think of it it would be pretty hard to make an automatic that small. I love that old adage that there are no stupid questions, just stupid people. :lingsrock:

I was just looking at ABP's website and boy do they have some amazing looking straps. That Ostrich that you got is definitely my favorite, I wonder how it would look in black. And in relation to the price that Breitling asks for a plain croc their prices aren't bad at all. I was also looking around at other sites and AuthenticWatches.com's OEM Breitling strap prices are just dumb. They want $375 for a black calf on a tang buckle  and $395 for a DPI on a tang buckle.  Is someone over there smoking crack?

BSA is crazy.
They'll charge 130 on tang for calf and 360 for Louisiana croco an Tanho, euro's.

Buy 1 RIOS 1931 strap and get amazed, those guys at Granges are smoking Hallucinating Hays and are ons LSD at the same time.

If you're not happy with the quality of the RIOS (calf $40 , croco 160, German hand made) kick my ass virtually.

No worries Roman, you're welcome. And remember there's nothing wrong with asking questions. I love that other old adage - "If a man asks a question, he may look stupid once. If a man doesn't ask a question, he may look stupid forever".

But in actual fact while the UTC is quartz, there are some very small automatic movements out there which Breitling couldve possibly used but they tend to made by the highend brands. Automatic ladies watches need small movements so Patek and others do make very small auto movements, but ETA don't so Breitling obviously went with quartz.
