Putting the Rubber straps back into the deployment (which you rarely ever need to do unless buying a new rubber strap)are a P-I-T-A!....However, putting the rubber strap back in the lugs of the watch....Cake! Literally, 20 Seconds tops. The rubber obviously has give to it, enabling the pins to snap right in. Stick one side of the pin in the lug, then use your tool to gently push the other side down and fit it right into the other hole.

Hope this helps.

I think he was asking how to get the Pro II bracelet back on, it’s a bit trickier then the strap since (obviously) you can not compress the steel end links like you can the rubber strap to get the pins in between the lugs.

The way I do it is working from the underside of the watch, I line the end links up between the lugs so that both sides of the pins are resting on the underside of the lugs. I then depress each side one at a time with the 6767F and slide the end link down so that the pin rests on the inside of the lug, I then do the same with the other side. Once both pins are between the lugs you can maneuver the end links down until the pins snap into the holes in the lugs. Just go slow so you don’t miss the hole and push the pins out the other side of the lugs. If you are scared of scratching the lugs you can always put a piece of tape over them before you start, hope that helps.

Thanks for the help, I was more referring to the Pro II SS bracelet, where I have a really hard time with the end links.

That does help, and thanks for the advice. I do use the 6767F and its great, but I think I need some more practice (and patience). I think in the meantime I will keep the bracelet on for a while longer until I go back to the croc... maybe even until spring!

Thanks for the info. I'm not too clumsy so I think I should be able to do it myself. I'll head down to Torneau this weekend and see what they have. Will they sell the tool too or do I need to get that online somewhere?

Mywatchmaker.net. order extra tips though you get a couple extra with your purchase.

:yeahthat

Ordered mine from there Thursday night, received it Monday. If you are US based, Best price around, considering that you get extra tips with it.

I called Torneau today and they quoted $150 for the regular black leather and $450 for the crocodile leather. I looked up bands online and they all seem to be about $250-350 just for the regular leather. That's weird.

Does anyone have pictures of Super Avengers with white dials and black leather straps? I'm trying to decide between the regular leather and the croc.

Also, any pictures of the clasp choices? Thanks.

$150 does seem a bit cheap but did you check to see if it included the tang buckle or deployment buckle? The ones you found online might include these and the quote from Torneou might not.

Also, just thought I'd give you the heads up to not take what most salespeople at these jewelry stores (and even ADs) say to heart. There are so many threads on how they don't really know anything about what they're selling and they just mouth out dribble to get a sale. You might get lucky and run into a knowledgable one, but from what I found, most aren't.

The correct tool is a Bergeon 6767F.

I'd recommend the Bergeon 6111 instead.

That does the job too (as does the 6825), but given a choice I will always take the 6767.

I got my 6767 delivered today-thanks to the forum for steering me right on this subject since I was having a hard time with my current springbar tool. The tip was just too wide to get in there and depress the springbar on my chronomat. Within 5 min of sitting down to use my bergeon tool for the first time I had the bracelet off and have installed a blue diver pro strap that I acquired last month. I am having a custom strap being made right now that i'm waiting for and I can't wait to pop that one on the chronomat. The bergeon 6767 has already made me a very happy customer.

What type of tape do people use to tape the lugs with, scotch? or do they use a different type?

Scotch tape works - you aren't going to damage the case with the tape so anything that doesn't leave a residue will work.

They didn't mention which clasp it was. The tang is the typical one that comes with leather straps where you slide the thing into the hole, right? And the deployment is the one that comes with the metal bands? Is there one that most members here think is better or is it just personal preference?

You can get leather straps with tang or deployant / deployment. General consensus is that deployant is far more comfortable because it allows for infinite adjustment.

Details of it here - http://www.breitlingsource.com/strap_fo ... yant.shtml

Keep in mind the springs are different on the proII compared to the springs that come on the leather/rubber straps. I made this mistake before when I accidentally tried using the springs from my leather strap on my steel bracelet? About 30 minutes of cussing I had to give George a call and thats where he broke the embarrassing news to me :D

Two minutes later it was back on! :lingsrock:

Thanks for that link, I like the deployment better than the tang. Will it fit as well as the tang though? I have a stainless band now and they said to size it a little large so that when my wrist swells the watch isn't too tight ... so with the leather, do you have to do that too?
