Stay away from that area. Unless you have lots of cash burning a hole in your pocket

Update. I went to LA Swiss this afternoon, and left the watch with them. They told me that they would look at the watch and get back to me in a few hours. So, went there again this afternoon and they told me that they would have to send it to the breitling centre in Toronto to get it fixed. They gave me a credit note and told me that I could order another one or buy some other models. Had a look at the other models on display but did not find one to my liking and within my budget range, even though they had a silver dial skyracer..
So I told them to order 2 other skyracers (1 slate grey and 1 black) if possible and I will choose one of them. However, it can take between 1 to 2 weeks to get them...
Anyway, as a first experience of buying an expensive watch, it was not one of the best but the salespersons were quite professional and friendly.
Let's wait and see.

Yeah, good service.

Also, 1 to 2 weeks is nothing, figuring we are in the middle of the holidays.

Normally when they don't have a watch in stock, it's 6 to 8 weeks :x

Hi guys,

yes Huttfuzz was right in saying that it takes 4 to 6 weeks. I got a new skyracer today (after 6 weeks) and I definitely paid particular attention to the date window. It looks perfect now.

Another question. On the warranty card, is it necessary to get a signature on the international warranty card. They stamped it and dated the warranty card..But they did not sign it... Can this have an impact for the resale value afterwards

Any ideas?

Thanks

Stamp and date are the important parts - it's not an issue.

Did you ever have the date on your Skyracer fixed? I just saw one that had the same issue at my AD this past week..

No. They replaced it with a new watch since it was only 5 days since I bought the old one.

In the OP, the centralized arrow hand (can't recall if it is the minute totalizer or the chrono sweep) is slightly off to the right too. That would bug me as much as the date.

Glad you got it all sorted. Do you have the new watch yet? What colour did you choose?

I actually waited that long to get a similar grey skyracer. Up to now, no complaints. It is running 3 seconds fast since yesterday and I understand that it will take a few weeks to settle down.

I'm on my second Skyracer. First one was replaced after the stopwatch totalizator and second hand would not reset to zero - replacement came after two service resets. Six months later I had the date window issue. Returned to AD who sent in again for adjustment. Now two months after that adjustment the date is now again misaligned with the window - misalignment is worse than the OP - far enough over that all I see is the 1 from yesterday (21 Aug) and the 2 from today (22 Aug).

Will take back to the AD tomorrow but seeking advise.

Should I request (demand) full replacement cost if I want to exchange?
Does my 2 year warranty clock start from the first purchase or from the date of the replacement watch?
Any help is appreciated.

Thanks in advance for you help!

At this point I would simply point out how disappointed you are and see what they say - Breitling tends to react well to the 'honey' approach. I assume that the warranty resets with the new watch, but don't know for sure. Any service action comes with it's own 1 year warranty as well.

No date issues - this is the first I've seen. Clearly an abberation.

There can be a lag of 5-12 seconds on the center totalizer minute hand versus the center second hand. That was present on my black dial which I sold with full disclosure. It isn't present on my Raven. The used white dial I bought obviuosly had the center chrono minute/second had reset (probably by an amatuer) so the minute hand tracked perfectly but they were off at the neutral position. BUSA fixed it and it is perfect.

All in all the center minute slight lag does not bother me at all. The watch is just so pleasing and functional in so many respects. And it is a great fit for me. The white dial on the Pro II is one of my fave looks and the Raven with grey dial/black subs on rubber is an outstanding looking casual watch. I don't think I ever would have noticed it but for some macro images. I've noticed some scratches on watches for the first time on macros. Damn those macro images.

Frankly I'm glad I got these 2 Skyracers before the posts of problems started popping up. I like them that much. One thing I do is wear these models like they are not as durable as some others. I get the impression the movements are more subject to issues from jarring. My AD told me a customer who rides a Harley had to stop wearing his while riding. But that's not an issue for me since I don't plan on getting a Harley.
