This may be a radical suggestion, but........

For the US members who are wondering if BUSA do it - you could phone them and ask

BUSA, is about worthless unless you want to purchase a watch directly from them.

Excellent stuff. The Breitling I bought did not have a box and I put it in for a full service as it was 6 years old and looked like it needed it and I had a chat with the nice lady at BUK. Not only can you buy the box for £40 (I have seen them go for almost £100 on eBay  ) but you can also get a new Instruction Manual for £20 and an Attestation Certificate (but they need to physically see your watch) for £30 (takes 6 weeks). They will also do an authenticity check for £35 if you are not sure if it is real or not. BUK seem to be nice people to deal with and the conversations and e-mails I have had have been very old school - polite and professional. If only more companies were like this.

I'm glad this thread has popped up again. I phoned BUK about 2 weeks ago an they said you can't get a box set unless you send them your old one in. According to the lady I spoke to there is absolutely no way round that, exchange basis only.

I stated it was because my hinges were broken, and there was no mention of supplying the replacement free :?

BUSA does not sell boxes directly to customers. They advised me to contact an authorized dealer, who can then place an order with their sales rep for a replacement outer/inner box. They said that the price is somewhere around $100. What are the odds that your AD won't have a clue about this???

**They also mentioned that they do not sell boxes for the Emergency line**

Must be a very new thing as my e-mail confirming a new box from BUK was only 7 days ago. I don't have a box to exchange. Maybe because my watch is in for full service they allowed it?

Nice! So thanks to some selfish turd, we can't buy boxes for nice used watches that cone up without box and papers. That was my real reason for asking them, didn't know whether to say that on the phone.

Isnt it always the way that the small number spoil it for the rest :guns: :guns: However i dont feel its just this I also feel that its to stop people buy gen boxes and using them for fakes, And also its a good way for breitling to gain a healthy stock of older boxes for their customers

I just bought a 2009 Navitimer with papers and original Breitling Box. If the watch didn't have all the original packaging I wouldn't of purchased it. I wanted the slide rule instructions, the slide rule card and the presentation box. I saved a good bit of cash on a beautiful watch with a SS 7 link bracelet, and the presentation case is what cinched the deal for me. The box was the newer bakelite box with the leather travel case inside.

I also have a 2 tone Cosmonaute from the eighties with Lemania movement. I purchased that used from a reputable jeweler / repair shop. I would like to get a presentation box for it. I'm going to contact Breitling about a presentation box when I get a chance.

Thanks for the info.
Cheers
Cheryl

Also since they changed the box to cardboard, I want to buy the older and nicer Bakelite box.

I wonder if they are going to charge $100 for the obviously cheaper cardboard box. That would not be cool.

Interesting. I have one of the older boxes, square with 45 degree corners, but still Bakelite. I wonder if they have any of those laying around? It's for my B-1. My SOSF and G41 both came with the newer style box shown in the OP.
