I know i'm beating a dead horse here but I just can't get past the difference in the cases on these two watches. The lugs as well as the area surrounding the crown (sorry I don't know what that's called) are different. It seems to me that to produce watches that dissimilar, would require a significant amount of re-tooling at the factory. Usually with changes in year models the cases remain the same it's just minor differences such as bezel, dial color, hands etc. that change. Administration says the watch he has posted is from 1987 and the auction watch also says 1987. I wonder if anyone has an annual catalog from that year. Are both of these watches from the same year?

On which two, OP's and Maritime?
They look the same to me, as well as the crown guard.

On these two BN. The lug area is rounded on the first pic whereas it's straighter on the second and more square. The crown guard (thanks for the name BN :D ) is tapered up more and is not as square on the first as the second watch. The second looks more Panerai-ish if you know what I mean.

Now I see. They are different indeed, but txturbo's photo of Maritime has the same case as the OP's one.
Maybe that one was newer or older one.

Agree. Same case but different batons. So it looks like three different Maritimes. Confusing :) .

For me just two, I still think that OP's one is Franken.

Agree. I think there are just too many differences in these examples for a watch that had such a short production run.
