I've always made a point to not wear an automatic watch when target shooting, but now I guess there's enough anecdotal evidence here in this thread that it's not a problem.

I do also remove all watches when wood working; but that's as much for safety of my fingers - don't want anything that might get snagged in a power tool, or damaged by flying debris.

And golf is for sissies. :poke:

Heh, heh. I keed. :)

Michael

My Seawolf has taken a serious beating (not on purpose). For a while the spring bar needed to be replaced and my watch would fall off and go crashing to the ground. Then one day it fell off on a stair well and went crashing onto a tile floor, 3 flights below me. It kept on ticking for another 2 weeks before it finally stopped. I sent it to BUSA (under warranty thank goodness) and got it back a month later and it's almost like new. Needless to say I take much better care of it now.

I always take off my watch and leave it in my car when I go to the gym. I have seen some idiots with their gold Rolexs at the gym just so they can show it off to the girls. It bothers me so much that I'd love to "accidentally' drop a 50lb dumbell on their wrist to teach them a lesson....

Been wearing my Navi every day now for nearly two years, it's been through most building works (within practical reason) all gardening works, and also the cockpits of many light aircraft, which do rattle at times. My theory is that the watch was originally designed for the old style of aviation, so they needed to be extremely robust, and with today's technologies I imagine are built even better than before. All that being said, there's no guarantee that it's not going to explode 1 day after the warranty expires :? :D

This is exactly what I wanted to hear about the Navitimer (world) and what its capable of handling. Sounds like its just a robust for day to day use as all the others with some obvious differences :lingsrock: .

I'm happy to report t at my ling survived a trip to Dorney Park, PA!!!!

I went on all the coasters and it still works- go figure.

My experience damaging watches tends to be scratched crystals from cutting corners too tight around the house exterior. I've scratched every watch I own that way. BTW, my house is brick!!!! I guess I'll have to start walking around only counterclockwise.........

A couple of weeks ago I did a 1 hour pro-karting race wearing my Chrono SuperOcean. That was very jolting on the wrist aswell as on the back and legs due to the lack of suspension.

To be honest, if it involves heavy activity, I wear a lighter and cheaper watch!

(dont want to damage my loot!)

One thing to point out if unlike myself you ever take it off to do something, don't leave it there, A friend of mine was changing an oil filter on his car outside his house , took of his rolex (which i think looks s@@t) and threw it on the car seat on a busy road, went and made a cuppa , came back and it was stilll there, when he realised he had taken it off, he panicked only to see it still in his car luckily, rather than walk up his drive (which he didn't want to get oil on) and put it it indoors, he nearly got very unlucky.

I have worn my Chrono Avenger fishing, riding Jet Ski's, woodworking, welding (had to be careful with stick welding) and diving and have not had a problem with it yet.
