I think that Archie wanted to say that you'll loose less with re-selling if you have bought a used watch and not a new one from an AD, which is correct.
I know that majority of people here buy from ADs, but there's a lot of folks that can't afford to buy from them, including me.
Sorry for the hijack.
I'm not too concerned about where the watch is purchases as long as they are legit. Its the love of the watch that matters not where it was purchased.
I personally like to support a local Authorized Dealer for the simply fact that there is no doubt about the authenticity of the watch and in some cases a valuable source of information.
AND I totally agree that there is something about walking into a AD and being overwhelmed by the showcase of beautiful watches!!!!
I've read posts about Archie and I'm pleased he had a comment about mine. I am pleased to support my local AD as I do not want him to go out of business. Without them we would never be able to have one "speak" to us from beneath the glass. Likewise, I am sure that many of the forum members are small business owners that charge more than the next guy for their service and the difference is their "service". Anyway, I see myself more a collector than a trader and need the peace of mind that what I buy is legit and also supports the B company.
As for Archie, there is a difference between being confident (cocky) and being arrogant. The problem is that arrogance cannot see the difference. I also appreciate your comments!
