Rick Here is the history. I assume the IMPERIAL WATCH COMPANY had an association with Harvard or a jewelry store or a distributer named Harvard .

The Imperial Watch Company was formed at La Chaux de Fonds, Switzerland in 1875,The city was founded in 1656. Its growth and prosperity is mainly bound up with the watch making industry. It is the most important centre of the watch making industry in the area known as the Watch Valley Karl Marx said about the very special urban design of the city that it was a "city-factory" which exported Swiss watches in the 1920's through importer such as Bayer, Pretzfelder & Mills. Many watches of this era were marked both Buren Watch Company and Imperial on the plates. An associated company Louis Goering registered the name Imperial in 1890. On March 1, 1966 Hamilton Watch Company USA acquired Buren Watch Company, Switzerland.Prices have ranged from $300 up to $50,000 for a rare 1940s 18ct gold chronograph two tone dial owned by king George VI Of England which was sold to a private collector in 1993.
The imperial watch company was located it the same area as The famous architect Le Corbusier, the writer Blaise Cendrars and the car maker Louis Chevrolet were born there. La Chaux-de-Fonds is a renowned centre of Art nouveau.Pierre Jacquet-Droz and his family is one of the most famous watchmakers of this time to come from the same location. He is best known for his automata.
