As per the title, those stenciled numbers have been deal breakers for me on the AS, and new Seawolf. It seems that I am in the minority as both of these watches have been very successful. Am I alone in my dislike for M*A*S*H numbers?

p.s. hate the M*A*S*H numbers, love the T.V. show :D

I'm not a huge fan of the stenciled numbers either

I like them simply because they are different to my other numbers, and make arabics more appealing to me - I generally prefer romans.

That said, I've got my AS so I'm good with the stencilled numbers and don't feel the need to seek out more.

I do not like them either. It single-handedly kept me from buying either an AS or SW. :?

...It's all about personal preference isn't it? We are ALL Breitling family, some newer and with less of a collection than others...but that stuff really doesn't matter does it??? Don't we ALL share this passion for THIS brand and their product? Many watch brands out there and we are all here for some reason. This is certainly trivial...but doesn't Breitling honor the history of vintage military aircraft? My point being...vintage mil spec aircraft were prone to use the "M.A.S.H." style numerals right? None of this has ANYTHING to do with our personal preference of course. But Breitling saw fit to incorporate the "stencil" numerals onto certain dials...keeping with a certain tradition I assume. Again, it's all personal...and people take their opinions very personal, don't they?

Regards, Devin :lingsrock:

I agree, the look does pay respect to the military/aviation heritage, and seems to be very popular. The Buzz around the new Seawolf is evidence of that.

 You guys dont like my watch? j/k

I like them. They are very unique to me, and they seem to fit well with my 26 year old, dont-dress-up-too-often lifestyle. Plus, I find the whole military inspired design to be very cool. I wasnt sure id like them at first when I saw pics, but after seeing them in person I certainly did.

I think it's cool to have a variety of numbers -- arabic, Roman, stencil,
baton (not on the same watch, of course  ). Variety, as they say,
is the spice of life, so indulge yourself... :)

No, you're not alone. i don't hate them, not really sure that I dislike them either, but I absolutely prefer regular arabics over stenciled numbers.

The stenciled numbers are ok but what I don't like are those "half" numbers i.e. those which are cut off because of the inner dials.

I really like the stencils numbers, primarily because they add something new.

What I WON'T like is if they end up putting them on loads of models because they'll quickly lose their novelty value.
