I'm looking to buy an SS seawolf 1 or 2. I thought I was set on a black dial seawolf 2 when they become available but the more I look at the original ss seawolf 1 the more I am tempted to get that one while there are still some new ones about.

Which leads to my problem, my two local ADs will only get me in a yellow seawolf 1 in for me to 'view' if I put down a non refundable deposit of 10%. This seems ridiculous to me, I am a little unsure if I am brave enough/will like yellow in the flesh so don't want to commit a deposit before viewing.

So does anyone know anywhere in the London area of the UK that has one in stock that I might view? Then possibly even buy...

The other option is a long shot, that a regular forum member will meet me someone at their convenience to show off their own yellow seawolf to me for a few minutes, letting me slip it on my wrist for a moment. Long shot I know, but I'd happily pay with a couple of bottles of wine or something to say thank you for their time.

Hope this helps, I know from experience that beaverbrooks will ship watches in without any deposit or commitment to buy.
They should have a Seawolf 1 as they are quite a large chain and do have one in there Meadowhall branch.

thanks for the replies, I'd love to use the seawolf as an excuse to visit The Netherlands but I doubt by other half will agree!

I'll Beaverbrooks, my local one doesn't stock Breitlings which is a shame but I'll call just in case they can borrow one from another branch.

Any other leads still greatly appreciated.

At the risk of sounding obvious, have you tried Breitling website and its list of ADs in London? With a few phone calls, you are bound to find one who has at least the SW I in yellow, and the SW II with a bit of luck.

Yep making lots of calls is my next option, just thought someone might be able to say immediately that there is one at a certain shop they knew of.
I just hope some of the London ADs are more helpful than the two near to me!

Breitling Boutique?

I am selling my 3 month old Yellow Seawolf (see my ad), which is in "as new" condition. If you are up near Manchester, feel free to come & try it on :-)

Have just had a look at your ad, it looks a great watch. I had already seen those pics on another thread I think. It's your great shots that have made me sway towards being brave and going custard.
Sadly I am no where near Manchester, stuck in the home counties. Have travelled the world but have never been that far north in my own country, how sad!

Thanks for your kind comments!

Well, if you are happy to buy "used" (even though it's almost as new and just 3 months old), then I'm your man! Mine came from AndrewMichaels (forum sponsors).

Havin said that, I am having serious second thoughts about selling it, having always wanted one! But now I have my perfect watch (white dial Explorer II)I just don't wear anything else, and I've already sold everything else in my collection off! Just the custard remains!

Toby,

any chance you could do me a favour here?

I would love to have a custard Seawolf. I wanted an affordable yellow M1 but finding one of them is like finding unicorn dung for the roses. In the end I went for a blue Seawolf Chrono but the longing for a yellow avenger of some variety has not reduced.

I find myself glancing at ach5's for-sale post every couple of days. OK, daily, sometimes more often. It's still there...good. No one else has bought it...good.

I don't think I'm being unfaithful to the blue one. It's just... it's just not... a yellow one. But like the feeling I get when Louise walks past my desk at work, I don't think it's a healthy obsession (my missus would agree).

I can't justify spending more money on another Breitling at the moment (my missus would agree), and if you were to buy it it would mean that I couldn't. I don't want you to. I really don't. But if it were removed from temptation I'd probably be a lot happier - long term.

Manchester's not that far; there are trains, roads and even electricity in some parts of the North, and even if the sound of clogs and knees knocking together with rickets can be a little off-putting, it can be a rewarding journey if you're "on a mission".

So even if it does seem a bit of a trek, don't rule it out. Don't think of it as selfishly buying yourself a watch, think of it as selflessly helping another forum member. Am I not worth it?

Oh, if you do buy it and start putting pictures up of you wearng the watch on sandy beaches, in fast cars, sipping champagne by your yacht in Puerto Banús, remember that I know (roughly) where you live!

Alternatively, if ach5 would care to PM me a price I couldn't resist... 8)

Well let me say this, I am going on holiday very soon, and if this isnt sold within the next 5 days, it will be pulled and I will take it away with me to wear on the beach, thus making it "well used" and no longer a nearly-mint piece, so if anyone does seriously want it (and for some reason I've had a couple of people sniffing around today already), then I suggest you let me know before it comes out of the safe and onto the wrist to get all scratched up!!

I could be brave and travel North, my jabs are all up to date, I could even go on one of those train things, but sadly this weekend is being taken up with family stuff and then the weekend after I go away for a week in the sun. Am so tempted though.

Gyp, I know what you mean about hoping an ad disappears to help remove the pain of not being able to purchase while still not being able to resist looking every so often... I do it on ebay and car sites all the time. The sad thing is I have the ad pics downloaded on my work mac (hope ach5 doesn't mind) and for a while now I've been opening them and lusting after a custard seawolf during quiet periods. The 'want' is growing.

ach5 - Jealous you have the Explorer 2 as well, have been thinking about a black faced one for a while now too, sadly I can't justify the extra cost over my other 'want', the seawolf.

It's only a two-hour journey, you could get there and back in an evening...

It's becoming a soap opera this thread, very exciting, will they / won't they...
