Hi guys, i looked at the caseback of my SA and noticed the word "breitling", logo and 1884 slanted.
Wonder why cant it be straight?
Is it the same with all breitlings?
My SA is definitely authentic cos i bought it brand new from AD

Without photos you are asking us to guess, but you bought your watch from an AD, there is nothing to worry about. A few months from now you are going to look back at all these new 'worry' threads that you are starting and realise that it was just new owner nervousness.

You should wear it more and worry less. Bad for your health. You should wear the watch in good health as they say.

So I'm with a friend yesterday who works for Tiffany and is really into Jewelers and presentation. I showed her my new Avenger and she really loved it. Suddenly she goes, "why is the case back crooked?" I noticed it when I first got it , but never thought about it again. She asked if it's a Breitling signature or something an I said I'd ask the great minds in the Ling forum. So here I am asking, are they all like this, if so why?
Thanks :)

It's a screw back. You lubricate the gasket before screwing on the back. Based on the lube, gasket condition, etc. the back will be in a different position when you finish tightening it. The SA is rated to 300m, so if the case back showed a leak it would be tightened again. None of the backs on my Breitlings line up perfectly. Stop the worry!

I've owned several Breitlings and none of them have straight case backs. This really shouldn't be a thing to worry about.

My new breitling had a slanted caseback so I returned it to my AD.

Really???!!!!

And did they manage to find one with a perfectly aligned caseback to replace it with?

This thread has to rate as one of the most odd threads ever!

That is why you have to buy an Aerospace EVO, the case back is always aligned correctly as it is held down with six screws :yeahthat

That does seem a bit odd... the exact position of the caseback when properly screwed down depends on the compression available in the seal, the position of the threads relative to the engraving... lots of things. You can align a non-text-aligned caseback either by lossening it until it's straightens up, in which case you'll let water in, or cinching it down so tight that either you'll never get it off again, or it'll strip the threads... I don't think either is worth having the words aligned on something that should be pressed into your wrist all the time anyway!
