I'm doing some homework and have reached an impass: Does anyone know if the Scott Carpenter Cosmo came w/ a COSC Certificate? My guess is that it did not, but I thought I'd put it out there. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Definitely not - it was too early (97 from memory).

One year earlier, 1996, with ref # of 12022 so as Roff said no COSC.

Thanks! That is exactly what I thought, too early for COSC. Somehow, that data escaped me....

I don't 100% trust the source that you used to get that.

Source? I believe the watch was released in 1996 on the 35th anniversary of Carpenter's 1961 flight.
It's always possible I'm wrong.

There's an online source that says 1996.

Scott Carpenter took the Cosmonaute into space in the Aurora capsule on May 24th, 1962.

You're right, it was '62 so a 1997 release would make more sense.

1997 it was.

I saw one of these on Chrono24 the other day. It was a good price but it was beaten to hell unfortunately. The caseback looked like it had been badly scratched up then polished, then scratched and polished, scratched and polished, etc at least 5 or 6 times. It was quite sad to see considering what a rarity the Scott Carpenter Cosmo is.
