I'm new to this forum and joined because I'm in the market for a Skyland Avenger. I live in Laredo, Texas and the nearest AD is about 2 hours away (San Antonio,Texas). I'm partial to the Slate Gray dial, but every AD I call in the Texas area either only has the Black or Blue dial in stock. I've been reading on this forum that I might be able to negotiate 20-30% off MSRP. I have a few questions I hope you guys can help me out with:

1. Since I live 2 hours away and can't drive from AD to AD for negotating purposes will I still be able to get a discount negotiating over the phone? Or, do ADs tend to take you more seriously and give you their best price if you go in person?

2. Due to the fact that the ADs I've called don't have the Slate Gray dial in stock will they still offer a discount if they have to order it?

3. Any negotiating tips from experienced members here? I own a Tag Heuer AquaRacer so this is really going to be a big step-up on a timepiece, but I'm not too sure on how to get that 30% discount without sounding cheap to the AD!

4. Are there any forum members who might be able to recommend a reputable AD in the Texas area? I've also read on the forum that some order from out of state ADs in order to avoid sales tax...any thoughts on this?

5. What are the differences between the Skyland Avenger and the 2009 Avenger? What is the price for the 2009 Avenger? Which of the 2 would guys recommend as a better watch?

I would also recommend George at Govberg. I bought my Skyland from him as well. Good deal and a nice guy.
The new Avenger I believe has silver numbers and not the white...

I am another vote for George. The discounts you think are attainable and he probably either has the watch in his hand when talking to you or can get it in 24 hours. The dude knows his stuff!!
