It was never a popular watch, which is no doubt why it was discontinued. However it seems to have become a lot more popular in the last year or so after it was announced that it was disappearing.

I loved the white dialed version. Tried to purchase one a few months ago but didn't happen.

I do think that if I was to go with quartz, the first would be the Emergency.

The yellow looks great. I just acquired the new SS Seawolf with yellow dial. Question, what are the two seconds hands for?

That's what I did and never regretted it (just try to find one with an UTC-module... makes such a difference).

Dave, awesome photos. I was very apprehensive about getting the yellow dial M1 but after a few months it has become the favorite of my three 'lings. It really has a feel of a workhorse watch.

Rebel, the two second hands are part of the stop watch. The hand that is half red/half white counts the seconds and the one that is all red counts the minutes. The subdial at 2 o'clock shows 1/10 sec (only when stopped) and the 10 o'clock counts hours. So in the 3rd photo Dave posted the stopwatch has been stopped and shows an elapsed time of 1hr 46 min and 36.7 seconds.
