The contest period ended on May 15th. someone had said that the winner would be notified May18th, but I actually have seen no official documentation from Breitling to back that up.

IIRC, it was printed on the card that BUSA sent us.

My dad apparently emailed BUSA this past week inquiring about the notification of the contest results. The reply stated something the effect - "due to the overwhelming response that the contest generated, we will not be able to complete the notification of the results until next week." I asked him to forward me a copy of email. Just curious as to exactly what it said.

guys and girls..i always say guys sorry to offend...

so is anyone else besides me asking why did Breitling launch the b-01 without in house movement?

they released the 125th anniversaire...not too crazy about it, but nonetheless it is commemorative and historical...

i would just think why wouldn't they put the b01 into that watch? maybe to circumvent inital glitches?

its odd that they released the 125th and b-01 within so much time close to one another's release...

any thoughts?

thanks
nick

The cynic in me says that it would be to sell twice as many pieces!

There will be a lot of Breitling lovers who would want the 125th Anniversary Piece and a lot who will want the first watch produced with the in-house movement.

Why give them both in one watch when they may buy both.

Just my point of view.

And it will detract from the inevitable B01 Navitimer when that appears.

going to my theory on diversification, to sell twice as many, and if one didnt sell then the other would....makes sense.
thanks

When the first Navitimer comes out with an in house movement - likely one of the possible configurations of the B01 it can be another highly collectible piece, and likely one that appeals to the same type of buyer that would be attracted to the 125th anniversary piece (and quite possibly a different buyer than the Chronomat B01).

If you keep the two Navitimers separate (i.e. 125th and in house) then you prolong the press coverage, attention, buyer excitement, etc.
