Hi folks,

The movement of the chronograph seconds hand on my Avenger Skyland has continuous sweep movement except couple of positions where movement is not exactly sweep and certain "hacking" of the chronograph seconds hand is visible. I did not pay too much attention to it before and considered it as normal. Recently I read those posts again and started examining chronograph seconds hand movement with great attention. After noticing said "hacking" and chronograph seconds hand "jumping" (moving) more than required 1/4 of a second in certain dial positions, I decided to call local AD. Service person at AD/Service center here in Bosnia and Herzegovina appeared to be very knowledgeable and during our conversation I found out that he graduated Breitling Service School. He told me that this anomaly/mistake happens from time to time on B13 movements and it does not present anything dangerous. Of course, he agreed that any Breitling should be nothing but flawless; therefore, we agreed for a service visit tomorrow. Furthermore he explained that it can be done within 15 minutes by applying oils in the areas where necessary. I told him that I would like to use the same opportunity to get the accuracy adjusted (currently +6 sec according to my measurement). I will let you know tomorrow what happened. I am hoping for the best result, especially if the entire service lasts 15 to 30 minutes.
I sincerely hope they will let me take some pictures (I would love to make a picture of the exposed movement). More info (and hopefully pictures) will follow tomorrow...

Cheers,

Here is the update from AD - I just came back. Breitling Official Wrist Watchmaker did everything he could with the equipment available, but no result - chronograph second hand was still showing hacking whilst chronograph in operation. Now they will seek advice from Breitling Service Center in Vienna and also order some parts for replacement. They said my Avenger Skyland will be serviced and ready within 4 weeks period...Will keep you posted...

Hi folks,

After almost two months, I am proud to say that my Avenger Skyland is back home. Sweep of the chrono seconds hand is perfect now and certified watchmaker did an excellent job. Initially, he promised that the service will be complete within 20 days; however, due to the chrono movement parts that needed replacement and prolonged shipment from Breitling it took this long. As I said, chrono seconds hand has a perfect sweep movement now :lingsrock: . Accuracy is within standard, +3. Needless to say, I can not take my eyes of my Skyland. I've been playing with the chrono almost all day long...Soon I will post new AS pictures.

Cheers,

That is a long time to wait, but it is good to hear that they fixed it in the end (and without complaint).

Glad to hear the Skyland is back and running properly. I don't want to sound like a whiner, but it is true that when a favourite watch has something go wrong with it, it really is a big deal. It really is a relief when it is back and in good working order.
Cheers,
Carl
