OK, the sickness continues... another impulse buy... I picked up a Bronze SOHC on mesh. I'm a sucker for bronze, copper, brown watches. The SOH never really spoke to me until I saw this one for sale. It looked great in Bronze on mesh, so maybe it will be a nice surprise like the POC was.

Would it be wrong to put a Black OR strap on a Bronze dial watch?? Curious how that would look? Any examples out there? There is something about the colour of the brown OR strap that bugs me.

I haven't seen too many reviews of the SOHC on this board, would love to hear from those that have one... good or bad.

Thanks,
mark

Sellers pic. I will not have it for at least a week or two.

Very nice....I think the black OR would work just fine. I know I am probably in the minority on this, but I like the mesh bracelet as well. It just works on this piece. Enjoy your new watch!

Nice addition Mark!
I would think that the Black OR would work...personally I think the Bronze OR adds too much of the same color to me and cheapens the look of the watch.
I do however agree that the mesh looks great on it. My first Ling love was the SOH in Blue on the Mesh...but before I ever had the courage to spend that much on a watch, I let the impulse pass. Then I started to fall in love with other Lings!

Hi

Well, my one has become my wife's "Don't you dare sell that watch." Because it's her personal favorite in my collection. Also my employees think it's the nicest in my collection....and no, they don't give me a hard time for owning a few nice pieces.

Really think your bad fellow might really be best at home on the mesh. I too think the OR in Rust/Brown/whatever the colour is does not work.

Mark I've never been too crazy about the mesh but I think that watch and the mesh were made for each other. I think it looks absolutely fabulous just the way it is.

I went to the Japanese fitting site and really didn't care for that particular watch on the black OR but I thought the bronze Diver Pro or even the brown leather looked marvelous.

Anyway, great looking watch and congratulations!

Hi guys, thanks for the help and opinions. I don't know why I didn't think of the Japanese fitting site... duh. Great idea. I just went there and I agree the brown OR is out, the black OR looks OK, but not good enough to justify the expense. The winner is the mesh or a nice med brown Croc. I'll post pics when it arrives.

I hate waiting.....

M

I recently ordered the SOH 38 and 46 for my fiance and myself as wedding presents. We are having them engraved. I did not want the SOHC as I felt the cluttered dial took away from the watch, so got the SOH 46 for myself. For me there is no question, the watch looks much better on Mesh than anything else. Both the SOH's I bought are on the mesh.. but the SOH 46 is back ordered so wait is about 1-2 months.

Great idea Admin, nice presents. What colour did you get? Where are you having them engraved? On the caseback? There are so few watches that actually leave any empty space suitable for engraving, but this one has a pretty open caseback if I remember correctly.

Yes, I think the mesh will be the winner, and it looks like a nice quality mesh too.

- Side question- What is this Japanese fitting site you mentioned and do you have a link?
Sounds interesting.
I was going to mention the brown crock as I came across a photo of one on the Bronze dial and it looked pretty nice.

If you haven't handled the mesh bracelet from the SOH series of watches, you are in for a treat. Its the nicest mesh bracelet out there, and it looks retro without looking old and dated. We are getting them in Black on Black... which for the SOH 46 model is the most popular of all the Heritage models... and the only one that is backordered over the whole country. :(

Yeah the back is pretty open, and we are thinking about having our names engraved on the back, and then having the date engraved on the side of the case.

Does it not fit because the Mesh bracelet doesn't get small enough? Now I am worried that the SOH 38 won't fit my fiance. When we eyeballed it it looked like it would fit for sure....

I remember seeing it on her Nelson, I think there was plenty of adjustment room on the bracelet if memory serves me, In fact I seem to remember Michael looking at that very aspect!

+1 for the Mesh! I the mesh bracelet goes perfect with the SOH/SOHC. Although not bronze I did see a blue dial an OR which also looked fantastic, but I like the fact that you wont see too many watches with the Mesh braclet...it seperates it from other watches/bacelts and the SOH is one of the few that can pull it off and look that great.
