my friend just purchased a 2nd hand solid gold motors T.. it seems the chronograph hand is off the midline by about a fraction of a millimeter. i keep telling him to just forget it, you can only notice it if you really look closely.. but at the same time i understand how a little detail can just annoy the hell out of you. it's still under warranty but sending for service seems a little extreme. can this issue be "repaired" easily locally by a watchmaker? or would you guys send it in for service?

If your friend is anything like me a fraction of a millimeter is a big deal. I had a similar problem on my Super Avenger and I couldn't stand it. Brought it into a local AD that has a watchmaker on staff and within a few hours it was fixed.

It's an easy fix. The AD should be able to do it if they are an authorised repair centre - and as others have said - it must be done.

Run the chrono for 24 hours and then reset it. See if it finds it's place. I've seen some watches do that and just need to be run for an extended period of time.
