This is really quite interesting.....

I post a valid article - Jeremy Clarkson style - with many valid points and a good bit of humor and it gets attacked.

I suspect the main issue is that many of the points cut to finely to the bone..... many of you have a "glass jaw" ..... you can dish out the insults but you can't handle any in return.

I expose alot about myself of this forum - triumphs, good purchases and disasters. It is very interesting that so many people here feel it is fair to turn my personal stories against me. A REAL KICK IN THE GUTS !

I suppose that is how the British are...... hence the reason the FRENCH, GERMANS and AUSTRALIANS really can't stand them.

Very dissappointed nobody has come back and said.... Archie - you raise some good points with a nice bit of humor! WELL DONE!

If there was any humor in there, I didn't get it. I read a post that was degrading the experience of owning a beautiful Breitling for Bentley watch, which many of us do for various reasons, and to do so on a Breitling forum and demonstrate your lack of judgement is probably the only funny part. Whether intentional or not, your posts have a way of rubbing people the wrong way.

I think I may have a solution Archie......

Don't reveal the personal stuff about yourself.

I have a sneaking suspicion, and don't tell anyone else that I told you this, but I really think............

No one cares about your personal stuff.

 Um. Hmmm. First of all I was not aware that this was exclusively a British forum, as such I beg the pardon of all here for my American intrusion.
Next, and perhaps most pointfully, I thought that a number of months ago that you, Archie, promised to stop posting after drinking your Scotch. You have quite obviously broken your word. No other explanation explains either this thread, or your most recent (above) post.
I do find your posts very funny, however, but most certainly not in the way you intend ( I presume). I would find simillar humor in finding a church pastor with a $1000/day heroin habit, not laughing, but rather gruntling over the true oddity of life and those in it. In truth I pity you for the demons you carry silently, for considering those you freely display, they must be astonishing!!

The internal contradiction of what you write is pathetic – one minute you grandly claim to possess a valid Clarksonian humour. Next minute you state the British are hated. Jeremy Clarkson isn’t Polish, you know? Why don't you take your:

- handbags
- model planes
- assorted toys
- collection of clothes pegs,

and whatever else you gaze at with listless eyes and like to paw with your chubby little fingers and you know, like that old Guns & Roses song goes.... F@&* Off!

I assume this lovely blanket statement of yours is in response to Polenzo's post pertaining to your suitcase/soap powder misadventure? How quickly you forget the support that a number of the British contingent on here gave you when you first posted about that.

Look Archie, we all know that 99.9% of your posts are designed to elicit some kind of strong reaction from people. And yes, I will admit you are very good at that, because while EVERYONE here knows this fact, many of the membership STILL seem compelled to bite and reply (and yes I realise I am doing just that by writing here). The simple reason for this is that your posts are generally inflamatory. For example, one minute you're degrading a whole range of watches that many people on here own and love, and then act all surprised when it doesn't go down too well. Do you really think people are going say, "Oh that Archie is such a funny chap saying that I only bought my watch because I can't afford the car"?? Of course you don't, because I suspect you are certainly not an unintelligent man and for reason you like this kind of attention.

And then you follow up with a rant about the British just because one guy happened to hit a nerve over your soapbox incident. You talk about "glass jaws", but frankly I'd say you've got a bit of a glass jaw yourself if you can't take the insults when you were the one who started it in the first place. Again, I'm sure you know full well the kind of replies you'll get...... which is obviously why you do it.

Each to their own, but I really don't know what you get out of this place at times. You told us early on that you were banned from other forums. Well, you're not banned from this one, so why do you persist in doing all you can to wind people up on here? Sorry but I just don't get it...... but as I said above, it's each to their own.

The thing is, I'm sure you DO have a lot to offer this place in terms of watch knowledge, so why not attempt to build a few bridges on here? Just chill out a bit, stop trying to be the centre of attention all the time with headline-grabbing threads, and make a few productive posts. In my experience this is generally a pretty inclusive place, so if you give it chance I'm sure others will give you a chance.

RESPONSE TO DRIVER8.

What a well written posting..... This is an excellent post and you have made me think......

YOU ARE 100% CORRECT!

Yes - I do love my Breitling Navitimer and I do enjoy this forum....

I WILL FOLLOW YOUR EXCELLENT ADVICE!

PS - Don't take the Bentley Banger racing thread too seriously!
Personally I find it distasteful to banger race Rollers and Bentleys!

When I use the term BENTLEY motor car I am referring to the following:-

1) A car less than 10 years old
2) A car produced under Audi Ownership
3) Not a 70s Banger racing Bentley!

Well, I do not understand what you mean by this, My uncle had two "banger" Bentleys and Two (presumably "banger" Rolls Royces) by that logic (if your comment could even be called logic!)

They were proper Bentleys and Rolls Royces just as the new ones are!

As to your original theory, you obviously have no idea who a wealthy person is do you?

I have known wealthy Bentley and Rolls Royce owners count amongst their watch collections not only Bentley Breitlings but breitlings,Oh I could go on, just about any other high end brand of watch you care to mention...And Timex!

As for making a statement that People who Buy Breitling Bentleys do so largely because they cannot afford the car to be, well quite frankly an Ignorant statement!

I think most of us have got your measure on this forum, it is rare if ever I post anything on your threads, to be honest most of them are not worth making a comment about!

I bet you were the kid in school that used to burn ants under a magnifying glass just for the heck of it!

There archie, I bet your happy, you have goaded yet another person to comment and so raise the bar of your ego another notch higher...Hope you feel more of a man now that it has been massaged and validated

This might come as a big surprise to Archie, but I don't need a car to tell people what kind of job I have, I don't need a name brand briefcase to tell the world I've made it, and I don't need a watch to say anything to anybody - I just wear them for me. It's a shocking concept in this modern era, but I prefer to be an individual than a marketing stereotype.

Here Here, well said Roff

It's funny how Archie asks for someone in the UK to help him recover his money and then says how Australians can't stand them.
