Hi ABC, sorry to hear of your conundrum!

In the UK you legally have 6 weeks from the date of purchase to obtain a refund if the article sold is not fit for purpose.

Losing that much time renders the watch unfit for the purpose for which it was sold; you are thus entitled to a refund. Of course, many people attach sentimental value to a watch and so prefer to have theirs repaired by the manufacturer.

If this is not the case, however, you might wish to calmly explain to your AD that you are entitled to a full refund. Let us hope that the manager is accomodating and understanding; they will certainly be far more willing to exchange than refund.

Many retailers have a 30-day refund or exchange policy anyway, so two weeks should not be a problem. Certainly, however, sort it ASAP!

Anyway, much luck to you.

Best wishes,
Ashley

P.S. That was my first post!

Alpha why don't you wind the watch up and wear it this weekend and see if it looses any time. It may or may not be the winder. I don't think the winder setting that you have allows the mainspring to function in a normal fashion so I would be leary of this setting.
Why not wear it this weekend, see how it does and on Monday if still slow then off to the AD as Roff suggested. :D

Thats what I was gonna say. And if you cant wear it, just manually wind the crown every day and see how accurate it is. Step #1 has to be to take the winder out of the equation.

:yeahthat

My guess is that it is winding down on the winder, and then restarting with every other cycle. Just wear the darn thing and test it in real world situation, its too nice to sit on a winder anyways.

Mark
