I remember, within the past few months of a post by a chap who has the same dilemma as you. The watch was barely worn (I can't remember which model, though). Somebody advised him to see if his AD would take it back, and to his surprise that is exactly what happened. I don't know if there is a certain time frame generally, within which you have to return the watch.
But hey, it's worth a try! Especially, if you are willing to get something that is pricier, that may be a selling point also.
Sometimes, these things happen. We fall in love with something, then after a while realize it was just a temporary infatuation. It is no different with a watch than we any other object really. Most things are returnable or exchangeable if in perfect condition.
