Before I also liked brushed, but when I tried the Skyland, there was no going back. With polished/brushed combination you get the best of both worlds and the white details on the black dial are just soo crisp too. Although I did feel that in a side by side comparison the Skyland paled a little against models with more decorative details. That feeling passed. It´s so easy to get snowblind with so much to take in at once at your AD. (Like a kid in a candystore.) For a minute I thought I wanted a Chronomat. Then I had to remind myself what I was really looking for and I bought the AS. I haven´t regreted one second. I couldn´t wear a Chronomat daily and for me it felt too small, like the BB too.
Having said that, if you feel the BB is your first choise, you shouldn´t go for the second best. Btw the polished BB is very hypnotising. (I couldn´t wear that one to work either.)
I´m already looking at the next one, to be a special occation piece. With that I don´t have to think about beeing appropriate to everything and taking an everyday beating.
So be ready to realize that there might be another one.
