Howdy folks, this is my first post here. I stumbled across this board about a week ago when I started thinking it might be time to replace the Blackbird I have had for the past 9+ years. I'm going to provide as much information as I have but if there is something I leave out, please let me know and I will try to provide it.

I received a Blackbird as a gift for my 21st birthday a little over 9 years ago. I have worn it pretty much every day since. It was purchased from a jeweler who was a friend of the family but not a Breitling AD. I have the box, extra links, bezel guard, and papers; however, the warranty booklet was never filled out. (Link to photobook of watch and accessories is below.)

I am hoping you fine folks can assist me in assesing a fair value for the watch in its current condition (as well as helping me figure out what its condition is according to the TZ scale) and recommend some courses of action for selling it. Much as I would like to keep it, I can't really afford to have 2 Breitlings and I would like something new.

It has never been serviced but has been running flawlessly since I received it. It loses a little under 3m per week. Chronograph/date work perfectly.
Cosmetically it has no major blemishes but has a lot of swirl marks on the watch and bracelet as well as several tiny nicks on the bezel around the crystal. I tried to include as much detail as possible in the photos. (There is what appears to be a blemish around the 140 mark of the tach on the first photo in the linked album but it is some sort of light reflection because it doesn't show in the picture of it on my wrist or as I sit here now.)
The back of the watch lists model # A13350 and Serial # 15079.
The bracelet is stamped M0199.
As mentioned above I have the warranty book but it was never filled out. I have no idea why or what that means.

As far as selling it I know it will be difficult online because I have no refrences or reputation as a seller. I know I would be loathe to deal with someone without any credentials. I live in New York City so perhaps a face to face deal is possible or there is a jeweler or AD to whom I could take it to have them certify its authenticity and condition.

Anyway, thanks for looking and I hope I haven't broken any board rules with this post. If so, please let me know and I will attempt to rectify the situation. Look forward to hearing from you!

-Henry

eBay completed sales is often the best way to determine value, but......

You really should get it serviced. Losing 3 minutes a week is 25 seconds a day - not good. The price is going to be severely lower without a service because the buyer is assuming not just the service cost, but also the risk of any repairs being needed.
