Just wondering when I go to get my SA do I choose between numbers and batons? Or is that just the difference between model years. Cannot remember the if the one I tried on had batons or not. :?:

Both models are available. The batons are newer - they've only been around this since 2008 - but you can still get the arabics as a current model. There is a bit of difference in the look, so make sure you get the one you like the most!

I have the one with the numbers, it is more sport looking in my opinion. I guess its what you like. Either way its a great watch. :)

If you like both of them, you are better off getting the most current offering; in this case the BATONS.
I was in the same situation like you 2 weeks ago; I finally chose the batons (which I should be receiving next week, cross my fingers)
I believe the Arabic ones are also 200-400$ less expensive

They should both be the same price, just a different stock number.

I think the"older one is 4400$ MSRP and the newer one is 4550$
(I could be wrong of course)

The "older one" isnt actually older. Its just been around longer. They are both currently available as current models, and I believe the prices are the same.

After flipping through my Chronolog 2009 book I noticed that Breitling is displaying more the Arabic numbered SA than the baton one...
Maybe they are trying to sell the "older" models before the "more recent " ones? :?

Personally,I love the batons on the new SA. I never was a great fan of the SA, somehow the whole thing just looked too bulky. When they introduced the batons, however, too me it gave the model a whole new look. I can't define it, but with the batons, the SA has become a very appealing model to me. I would never before have entertained the thought of every getting one. The AS was a favourite with me, and I love the stencilled numerals on that dial.
I think Breitling made an excellent decision when they decided on batons on the SA. As a matter of fact, I think it is now one of the most attractive dials in all the Breitling models.
Cheers,
Carl

As has been said the arabic version isn't older, it's just been around longer. They are both still being produced today.
